Dukes 2 Lines Up its Cast

I'm positive there are still a few of you left dying to know who will replace Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke in the direct-to-DVD sequel of The Dukes of Hazzard 2. I mean, seriously -- are you at all remotely interested in anything else surrounding this film? You wanna know who the hot girl is. That's it. You can admit it. The marketing behind the first film seemed to revolve solely around Jessica in short shorts, and I'm sure the sequel will do the same thing, so why spend energy on the extra crap when we can get right down to it?
Well folks, it appears Maxim model April Scott will be taking over where Simpson left off, contrary to rumors that had Kristin Cavallari in the role. For those of you who are not a horny teenage boy and don't pay extremely close attention to every girl wearing a bikini in Entourage, April Scott is a relatively unknown actress who, apparently, has just landed her moderately large break. Calling The Dukes of Hazzard 2 her big break might be taking things a bit too far. Hey, but she's a brunette. That means something, right? Maybe.
Joining Scott will be Randy Wayne (Jack and Bobby), who has snagged the role of Luke Duke away from Seann William Scott. However, fans of the first film should be happy to hear that Willie Nelson will return as Uncle Jesse, meaning one of two things: Either the script was just way too awesome to resist or Nelson's debt is so high, there's not a pile of crap out there he won't step in if it means a dollar can be made. In what's probably the best casting move, replacing Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg will be the sleazy Christopher McDonald. Rounding out the cast are Jonathan Bennett as Bo Duke and Sherilyn Fenn as Lulu Hogg.

I think it was stupid to cast anyone other than Jessica. They should have paid whatever it takes- Jessica IS Daisy Duke- anyone else is a cheap hack of a replacement.

Replacing johnny knoxville and sean william scott was STUPID ! They are the ones that made the first one a hit . Also Jessica simpson was good as well.

These idiots that think Simpson was the "real Daisy Duke" have no idea what the Dukes were like, the real Daisy was hot and smart but all Simpson could bring was a big chest and a bubblehead brain. She needs to stick to trying to sing because she can't act her way out of a paper bag. As far as the rest of the cast they were okay but from what I understand they want a little younger cast.

I never saw the first one..and I probably okay...I won't see this one either...but I do hate it when they change the cast around..it really does ruin a movie..but I will say the woman looks very pretty..and I'm sure she'll do a great job..but the movie itself isn't going to do well..just for the simple fact that the people paid to see the big names not the actual flick itself!

Get over the fact that nobody else but Willie Nelson wanted to do a sequel. Jessica Simpson, in my opinion, could NEVER be as good as the original Daisy Duke. She doesn't act good and the only fans she has are pre-teens who don't know rock from pop. I have actually heard people putting her in the rock category. And she isn't even pretty. Her skin is a nasty orange color, her jaw is too big, her hair is frizzy, etc.

Cheaper, yes, but only in the financial sense. Better, not that hard since Jessica Simpson can't act worth a damn. But the only Daisy Duke who matters is Catherine Bach, from the original. The first theatrical Dukes movie was good only if you assume it was supposed to be INTERTIONALLY stupid.

I think the second one's going straight to video, so, I may see it in a few years when the throw it in the dollar bin, lol. Good luck to the new cast though, Jonathon Bennett's pretty cute, he was bud on Cheaper By The Dozen 2 and Randy Wayne was pretty funny in the series Sons & Daughters as the "popular" son, so, maybe they'll be able to carry the show. Looking at Randy's pic, he does kinda look like a young John Schneider

I didn't see that first movie and I will not see the second one. I hate when movies change their cast but you now what w/ Jessica as your leading lady ..I think they have no choice but to change the cast. Jessica is a real idiot, not to mention a spolied brat. Plus, I also hate it when singers cross over into the acting world. What the movie really needs is a REAL actress.

Hooray for April! She's a true beauty and classy looking. Even though they did the best they could with Jessica, because of her THEN popularity, she is short and stubby, and a very poor dancer. She should be glad she won't be tempted to take a role that just spotlighted her short-comings. She needs to move on, maybe she'll find that she's good at something other than smiling.
