Tom Cruise Wants to Shut Down Tokyo for MI:4?

Though there hasn't been an official announcement regarding another sequel in the Mission Impossible franchise, Tom Cruise hinted to a possible scene in the fourth installment that would require the city of Tokyo to literally shut down ... everything. Oh that Tom Cruise and his nutty ideas.
Cruise made the comment alongside director J.J. Abrams while the two were off promoting Mission Impossible 3 in Japan. The actor went on to explain that, although citizens would hate life and traffic would hit an all-time high, he promised an action sequence that would be remembered forever. In return, Tokyo would only have to shut down for one week -- a minor inconvenience for, what could potentially be, Tom Cruise running throughout the streets at super-human speed.
Though it sounds absurd, a similar situation arose during filming of MI:3 in Shanghai. At that time, the Chinese government closed off large sections of the city at night to allow for filming some of the pic's more elaborate scenes. Personally, after being named Forbes most powerful celebrity, I think Tom Cruise is trying to see exactly how powerful he really is. I'm still waiting for the day when the guy tries to buy a planet and name if after himself. Screw Mars or Jupiter -- Planet Cruise sounds so much more ... relaxed. Am I right? Or am I right?

Um, I'd rather see that "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" sequel than another "M:I" film...Okay, maybe not, but it would be real close.

Like him or hate him, he's made some really good action movies, and admit it - if movie prices weren't so bad you'd be first in line to see an action movie with Tom Cruise over most other picture. He's appeared in some very good movies. He's an actor, and if you remember that when he starts talking... it's keeps everything in prospective.

People why all the hating.....Cruise is an actor so why get so upset with his personality? You don't have to agree with everything he says or believes and I'm sure there are people in your life, such as family, that you don't agree with nor care for certain personality traits, but why hate???
I find it kind of sad that celebrities are not allowed to be human, JUST LIKE WE ARE, with our characters defects, opinions and shanigans, but because they make TONS of money and "we" don't it appears to be very easy for "us" to forget that they are just like we are, only "we" are not under a microscope 24/7 and "we" don't have the resources to do half of what they do, BUT I would bet my last two cent that if any of you who are hating had the opportunity to make TONS of money "acting" you would jump at it and illregardless of your own personality flaws you would be the first to say I don't care what people think or say, I'm cashing in.....so get a life and do something more productive than hate!!! PEACE OUT

Tom Cruise's personality and antics aside, I think the Mission: Impossible franchise is played out. I don't care if they shut down Tokyo or not, but does it have to be for another MI movie???

Tokyo is one of the major financial centers in the world. I hardly think they would close the city to make a movie.

Well, I'm looking forward to MI:4! I love the action scenes and antics and for the most part the fans have been supporting the Mission Impossible franchise.
I especially like it because I'm not so sure about the new "Bond" guy...and "James Bond" has been around since the earth cooled!

After two years of incessant Tom Cruise bashing in the media and blogs I think the only thing worse than nails on a chalk board is listening to another series of stupidity from Tom Cruise haters.
If you ever want to see someone dive into a logic tailspin, and end up even cursing thier own right to existence, get a Tom Cruise hater started. It's like pressing the vomit button over and over and over. The colors may change, but it's still vomit. They'd even gnaw off their own leg just to proove he's a bad guy. I've never seen people so desperate to proove something before.

That said, I went to see MI:III in theatres and LOVED it! It was one of the best twists on action/spy movies I've seen in a long time. I loved the character interaction between Ving Rhames and Tom Cruise - Ving pulls no punches with pointed questions and it's both funny and honest - just like a good friend would. I think JJ wove the anxiety of impending marriage pressures and the inability to keep one's work as a spy from affecting that together seemlessly. I got to laugh while being kept on the edge of my seat the whole way. I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen - as action movies were meant to be seen. The action sequences were a thrill ride and seeing it at home on TV just wouldn't have been as fun. So all you haters out there, I recommend you don't miss out on seeing this one on the big screen, just because the media poisons the whole TC universe. You'll be kicking yourself later!
I'm looking forward to whatever movie Tom Cruise decides to make next.

Ya know, if we LET him just shut down Tokyo this ONCE, by the time he's making M:I 835, perhaps he really will be off on another planet and we'll truly be rid of him. Bye, Tommy. Blast off, big boy.
