Wolverine Movie Details Starting to Leak

In the fury of arguments surrounding the possibility of another X-Men sequel after the successful launch of the third title, we've all sort of ignored/forgotten about the actual, confirmed spin-off flicks we've got coming down the pike. Sure, X-Men 4 may not see the light of day, but plenty of other X-Men related titles certainly will, none more prominent among them than the Hugh Jackman vehicle Wolverine. Jackman's character was one of the immediate fan favorites on screen (fitting, as Wolverine is a fan favorite in the comic books as well), and should translate into a very excellent stand-alone movie. Now that the X-Men: The Last Stand hype is starting to die down, we're beginning to hear the first whispers of information about the Wolverine project. Writer Simon Kinberg recently sat down for an interview with iF Magazine. Most of the interview was interesting but uninformative, but Kinberg did briefly address the Wolverine film, primarily to say there were a few characters he was very exacted about. He'd wanted to include these characters in X3, but held back, feeling he could give them a fuller treatment in the Wolverine story. Anyone care to toss out a few guesses as to who he might be referring to? Personally, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Jubilee showing up as the young female side-kick type. Omega Red is probably an option as well, or maybe even some Alpha Flight characters ...

anybody else remember the awesome graphic novel, Spiderman vs. Wolverine, set in a still-divided Berlin? Make that a into a movie, and watch the cash pile up.

Gambit was supposed to be in X3 at the end with Jubilee and a few other young X-Men trainees in one of the final scenes with Wolverine........It was specifically cut out to be used in either the Wolverine stand alone movie or the Magneto movie

Most of the rumors about the movie are saying it will be a prequel, which makes sense. We want the more wild, self-centered Wolverine, not the 'take care of the kids' and 'take out the trash' one from the last movie.
I think his time in Asia, specifically the Yakuza stuff would be the most interesting. Then we could have Ninja, mutants, hell maybe some Shanghai pirates, and a monkey if we wanted to. It could be the perfect movie.

but as much as i love alpha flight, a kitty pryde/wolverine movie set in japan would be incredible. and i'm not just saying that 'cause the girl that played kitty in X3 was so cute.
okay, maybe i am.

i loved gambitt in the video games as a kid.
i also really liked night crawler in x-II...too bad he wasn't in x-III
