Tips for Tuesday: New to DVD on 6/27
Filed under: New on DVD, Home Entertainment
Recent Theatricals- Annapolis (Buena Vista) -- James Franco and Tyrese Gibson invade the Naval Academy, blissfully unaware that An Officer and a Gentleman is still a fairly well-remembered film. (Filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, two featurettes)
- Failure to Launch (Paramount) -- Professional floozy Sarah Jessica Parker is hired to seduce Matthew McConaughey right out of his parents' home. Of all the movies that show Terry Bradshaw's naked ass, this one's the finest. (Five blathering featurettes)
- Find Me Guilty (Fox) -- I don't care that it bombed and I don't care that it stars Vin Diesel; Sidney Lumet directed it! ("Conversations with Lumet" featurette)
- Madea's Family Reunion (Lionsgate) -- Tyler Perry is the Uwe Boll of urban melodrama. (Director's commentary, deleted scenes, four featurettes)
- Ultraviolet (Sony) -- Milla J. stars in a bunch of stand-alone action sequences that boast some pretty swanky set design. (Jovovich commentary, featurette, 7 minute-longer "extended" cut)
- Cache (Hidden) (Sony) -- The Funny Games director still has a few nasty tricks up his sleeve. (Documentary on Haneke, featurette)
- Ondskan (Evil) (Magnolia) -- Before he got the Derailed gig, Mikael Hafstrom made a good movie. (Deleted scenes, featurette)
- Imagine Me & You (Fox) -- Just as predictable and generic as an American rom-com, only the Brits don't bother with all the fart jokes and animal gags. Plus, how often will you get to see Lena Headey and Piper Perabo kiss? (Director's commentary, cast interviews)
- Why We Fight (Sony) -- And by "we," I mean Americans. (Filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, Q&A session, TV clips with director Eugene Jarecki)
- Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll (Image) -- Taylor Hackford's excellent concert film/doco is available in a 2-disc or 4-disc set. The latter has tons of extra stuff, obviously.
- The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak (Severin) -- The silly softcore adventure flick finally hits digital -- in your choice of regular or Director's Cut flavors. (Director commentary, featurettes, interviews)
- Plan 9 from Outer Space (Genius) -- Arguably the worst movie ever made ... now in COLOR! (Mike Nelson commentary, Ed Wood's home movies, original B&W cut, random goofy stuff)
- Private Resort (Sony) -- Yes, that stupid old T&A comedy that starred a pre-fame Johnny Depp and Rob Morrow. And Hector Elizondo and Leslie "Callahan" Easterbrook. And Andrew Dice Clay.
- Yellowbeard (MGM) -- A dozen funny people drum up about nine laughs in this Pythonabee pirate farce. (And I don't mean nine laughs apiece.)
- The Hunt for Eagle One: Crash Point (Sony) -- Mark Dacascos and Theresa Randle return to kick more terrorist tail, and this time they've got the power of Jeff Fahey. (Yep, it's a sequel.)
- Leroy & Stitch (Buena Vista) -- Another quickie Disney sequel that runs under 75 minutes. (extra cartoon, kid's games)

Find Me Guilty was good! I am not a Vin Diesel fan but he was good and the script was funny beginning to end.
