More Dallas Casting: Jessica Simpson, Denied

The last we heard about the casting of Lucy Ewing in the Dallas movie, Erik told us that the dreaded Jessica Simpson had held meetings with Sony about the part; at the time her biggest competition was Miss Lindsay Lohan. Basically, it was a choice between the two most overexposed people on earth who aren't named Paris Hilton. Now, though, it seems as if the power of Simpson's boobs and Lohan's freckles were not enough to get the role: Sony turned them both down. MWHAHAHHAAAA! According to a story on US Weekly's blog (Yes, they have one. Who knew?), the role has gone to Katie Cassidy (7th Heaven, Click, When a Stranger Calls), who beat out both Simpson and (wait for it) "actress" Kristin Cavallari for the part. (In the name of all that is holy, please let this be a sign Cavallari's 15 minutes are coming to an end.) The best thing abut the US story is that anonymous studio sources told them Simpson didn't get the part largely because of her reputation: "Producers wanted to steer clear of the drama." Not only that, but JLo herself was reportedly opposed to Simpson (and, it must be said, all big stars) as well, because "She doesn't want a diva on the set." Aw. Both a new divorcee AND a diva? Poor Jess.

J-lo is a diva Marg but Dallas even as big as it is can't support two egos of that magnitude. By the way, who the heck decided to give that wench lopez a part in Dallas anyways? Perhaps back when she was..oh..I dunno..Jennifer Lopez instead of 'j-lo' and was in Selena and wasn't a total witch then yes, give her a part but the 'j-lo' of today will simply drag production and give zero effort to her part. My God, does no one cast unknows anymore? What happened to giving everyone 15 min. instead of picking a select hand full of celebutantes (believe it or not I do like paris despite her over exposure in more ways than one) and wanna be singers (has anyone actually seen ms.spears work since her whole..k-fed marriage?) to fill every movie role? And God bless lindsay lohan..take a vacation honey! No wonder the poor girl's all keeling over and looks half starved..she's too busy for her own good.

Who the hell is Jennifer Lopez to call ANYONE a diva?! She is the worst of them all! A friend of mine met her and she totally snubbed her! Simpson is a bad actress. She is nothing but a dumb ditzy blond! neither one deserves to be in the movie!!

I wonder what kind of death threats j-lo had to pass out, because god knows she can't act her way out of a paper bag. Case and point her 1st husband called her out by saying "she always said she was throwing up, because she couldn't act like she had a headache. to keep from having sex." I don't know why all these Hollywood people think their crap don't stink, because we all have to wipe our ass, and light a match because all sh_t stinks and so does most of their so called over hyped talent. You couldn't pay me to go and see Dallas since j-no-talent is in it.

Seems to be a lot of anger on this board. Yes, J-Lo, Lohan and Simpson are all overexposed, but honestly the only reason they are is because they're images sell. If no one wanted to know about them then no one would be selling their pics to People mag. For all of their faults, they are still human beings and should be cut some slack. Because if they truly are talentless divas then they won't be around for much longer anyway. Don't hate them, if anything pity them. And freaking calm down, they are so not important in the grand scheme of things.

Well, I'm glad Ms. Lohan and Ms. Simpson didn't get the role for Dallas.( both of them have been over exposed.) Also I was so glad when Kristin was denied the part. Hopefully her 15 minutes of fame are over. I'm glad Katie got the part,though.

After all, Jlo would be playing an older part, as opposed to Jessica portraying a playful, buxom, and very young beauty, who gets all the guys. I myself don't think that Jlo should have been cast to play her part. A hispanic Southerner? Not believable. I don't see it. Jessica IS from Texas, and at least (acting aside) she would have the accent down. I do believe there is only room for one ego on that set, and Jlo wanted it to be ONLY HERS Y'ALL!

You don't know these people. All you know is - at best - whether they can act or not. (And really, if they do a good enough job--sometimes you don't know that.) Don't give me this "I know some one who..." B.S. Tell you what kid's. If you can't walk up to these people and have them know your name... guess what - not only do they not know you. But, you don't know them.

all these women are beautiful and very talented...we all have our taste and opinions of whats hot and whats not...but come on they wouldnt have made it this far if they didnt have something special that everyone connects with or most...Jennifer Lopez is a great actress...she can play a strong woman...she can play a victim...a hero...a mother...a cop...even a lesbian hit woman...she has more than proven herself...as far as paris hilton eww gross...no shape...ugly nose...and fake smile... no talent...born a snob..even dumb enough to try and trade mark THATS HOT...A big HO...but even she has something people want maybe her money...maybe her guts to try anything atleast once...but then that goes back to having the money to buy your way in...Jessica Simpson so very beautiful and amazingly sexy...great voice hate that her and Nick couldnt keep it together...give her time her acting will impromve i thought she played Daisey just fine ...she has real natural sex appeal...all women are truly amazing even Paris Hilton sometimes we make bad choices and it causes people to judge us in ways we wish they wouldnt...but no matter what a woman always remains amazing after all God gives her his power of creating life...in 9 months she makes an angel inside her...pure and untouched by evil then society get their hands on them and we get Paris Hilton

#2: there ARE hispanic southerners. and if there aren't then DAYUM there are a bunch of tanned, brunette white folks in texas. :p and accents can be faked, y'all! so i'm sure jlo can fool us into believing she's from texas. i remember reading about her doing a movie in mexico about all the women and girls going missing juarez. now, i don't know if she's playing a mexican (part of her role requires her to be blond, so the papparazzi got her in a blond wig), but i'm sure she can pull it off. :p she did it in selena after all!
