Geek News From The Moviehole Mailbag

Clint Morris over at Moviehole has quite a number of interesting little geek tidbits in his mailbag answers this week. Some of it is little more than speculation, some of it is insider knowledge, and some of it is just plain odd. Here are the most important bits, for those of you who don't feel like slogging through it all to find the good stuff. Bullet Point Knowledge Summary Style, GO!- Vincent Pastore, the man who plays Sopranos' Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpenserio, is topping the rumor list for the Incredible Hulk redux recently announced by Marvel. Morris does have a sense of humor, however, so this is just as likely a joke on his part.
- Talk says the new Bond guy might not last very long. He needs a really impressive performance out of the gate to sustain interest from the studio.
- Don't forget about Terminator Four, big plans are still in the works.
- Katie Holmes WILL be in the new Batman flick, but probably not for very long. Morris says he can't say anything more without risking the ire of David Goyer.
- Believe it or not, Mortal Kombat 3 is still desperately trying to be a movie, but production is moving along at a snails pace. At this rate, we can expect the film by 2019, according to Morris. Same with Tekken, but slightly quicker.

Could it be that the casting of Daniel Craig was a cynical decision made by Sony in order to boost interest in all the Pierce Brosnan films for their Blu-Ray re-releases? Think about it. Craig becomes the scapegoat for *Casino Royale* crashing at the box office. The media rakes him over the coals. And then Sony turns around and announces that Pierce Brosnan is set to return to the Bond franchise thereafter, thus not only boosting the re-release of the back catalog of films, but boosts demand for the next cinematic adventure with Brosnan.
Quick, can anyone remember how much more money the film after *On Her Majesty's Secret Service* outperformed it by? I thought I'd go back much further than the box office outperform that *GoldenEye* did over *License to Kill*.
Note to David Goyer... Push the Rachel character to the side to make room for Talia Al Ghul. You can do it, man. Give us the action and the heartbreak of Batman's relationship ship with her, and show those clows who "wrote" *Superman Returns* how a SuperHero Baby Daddy story goes. And drop some hints that ol' Ra's is still alive too while you are at it.
...Returns the virtual floor to Mr. Mark despite his love of the Scrawnyman Returns film. :)

Wowsers, I need to proof the email verification notice the next time. "Clowns" somehow became "clows" and "relationship" became "relationship ship".
