Optimus Prime Pic Surfaces

There's no escaping the following fact: Paramount and the internet are no longer friends. For one reason or the other, the studio is working overtime chasing internet fanboys in their quest to make it so no information about Michael Bay's upcoming live-action Transformers flick leaks out. Problem is, the actual leak is a bit bigger then they intended.
After the whole Bumblebee/teaser trailer episode from a week or so ago, the internet has, once again, found a way to piss off Paramount. This time, a picture of Optimus Prime in vehicle mode has surfaced online and, by the time you read this, there's a good chance it may be gone. But why? Why is Paramount going out of their way to silence the fans? Just last week, they went as far as to shut down The Movie Blog for eight hours after they posted a picture of a few actors hanging around the Transformers set. Shut down. Without warning. A website that has done nothing but shine praise on the project.
Hey, Paramount, last I checked there about fifty gazillion pictures of Spider-Man 3 floating around online. Has anyone tried to pull them? No. The only logical reasoning behind Paramount's "Ban Transformers Online" quest is that, well, the film sucks. Perhaps they're afraid of the negative publicity these pictures could generate a full year before the film is released. Or, perhaps, they're just a**holes. Either way, feel free to check out this Optimus Prime pic while it's still around. And, guess what folks -- it's just a truck. That's right! Come get me Paramount, I spoiled everything. Optimus Prime looks like .... a big truck. Man, now I feel like I need to visit confession ... and I'm not even Catholic.

Maybe Paramount is afraid no one will see the movie if Jon Q. Public finds out that the original Transformers have been replaced with random other vehicles. First BumbleBee is not a VW beetle, next Optimus Prime is being replaced by a truck, soon we'll find out starscream (originally a jet) will be replaced by the goodyear blimp. And Grimlock (originally a Tyranasaurus Rex) will become a Yugo.
I'm sure I'll still see the movie.

I think they're just tried of the new leaking everything. Raimi doesn't care cause they've hide Spider-Man 3 stuff for about a year. Really because less people were all that interested. It's Spider-Man, we've seen two of them... chances are the third will be fairly the same, with a few changes.
Bay has actually always been good with the internet reviews at least he was on TCM and The Island. Also all they've talked about it the fans they've talked to. But you know fans are flaky as hell. If everything were up to the fans really nothing in any book or movie good or bad would ever change. How about we just wait and see and stop b*tching about it all.

I saw the teaser trailer for this before Pirates this weekend. Impressively, though there was no actual footage from the film, the teaser managed to make this thing sound like absolute drek.
For one, the transformers are not from Mars. That alone makes me write off the entire film.

Sure, the Transformers aren't from Mars, but I don't think the trailer was implying that. Heck, in the Transformers: Armada series (Hey, i got a kid and it was kinda compelling) the Decepticons base was on the moon. I think they just put the Decepticons on Mars, or if you buy Bay's explaination that the trailer had nothing to do with the movie.
Either way, as long as they keep with the Spirit of the show then I am cool with it. So what if Optimus looks like a black long nose semi? He's still a semi, if had been a Durango or something I'd be screaming.

Oh wow it has flames, now the entire transformers universe is destroyed. Wah wah wah. Jesus if f**king fans boys ran anything in Hollywood they'd transform with six-lego blocks and when they'd have conversation (if fan boys could write even medicore diologue above 'Go over there!') the bottom of their boths would move only slightly to signify thier poor technologic skill and lack of ability to change things. Grow up, take it for what is, and try it out before you judge. God I hate fan boys. (Not directed at anybody above this, they all seem pretty open minded)

What idiot did not think that Bay and film execs would ruin this film with their "updates" and "adaptations?" It is incredible how these film exec idiots can be given a definite winner and then rape it to uselessness with their stupid ideas...

I for one got excited when I viewed the preview before Pirates. The entire crowd in the theater was cheering out loud after the preview ended. That tells you something about anticipation.

Er, doesn't Bumblebee's swap to Camaro have more to do with a refusal of licensing by VW (Bumblebee was an old-style Beetle, too!) than the instant assumption it must be Bay trying to change everything?
