Spacey Loved to Heckle Man of Steel

I've always thought Kevin Spacey was a cool guy. It is a terribly fallible assumption, because it is based only on what I've seen of him as an actor -- it's not like I know the guy personally. Heck, I don't even know a guy who knows a guy who knows him personally. Funny how we do that with famous people, isn't it? At any rate, every now and then we hear these little 'candid' stories about actors behind the scenes, and these often serve to validate or ruin our opinions of them. Again, we are basing opinions on nothing more than a few moments of these peoples' lives. But hey, that's what happens. So here is my star story of the day, validating my opinion of Kevin Spacey as a cool dude.According to actress Kate Bosworth, Spacey tended to spend much of his time on the Superman Returns set heckling young actor Brandon Routh's character of Superman. Bosworth said Spacey would hijack the golf carts used to transport people and materials from set to set and chain a small Superman doll to the back of said cart. He'd then proceed to drive around the set dragging the doll behind him, while screaming absurd death threats at his character's mortal enemy. I certainly hope some of that action got caught on film by some stray cameraman and will find itself as a bonus feature on the DVD. ...

Kevin Spacey mentioned this on the Tonight Show. He even brought up other things that he had done, but I can no longer remember any of them.

You know I am so damn sick of the articals I read about Kevin Spacey. People make up alot of weird stuff about him and they don't give the guy a chance to defend himself. So he had some fun while making the movie? What is so strnge about that? Lay off of him . He is an awesome actor with many talents. I'd marry the guy if I could! He is an actor to be admired.

Some actors can't turn off the need to be the center of attention. And some actors like to lift the pall off the set with practical jokes. It's hard to tell what Spacey thought he was doing out of context like this.
