I think they need to look elsewhere for an actor to play the part of Lance. Everyone knows about Gyllenhaal's regular escapades with other men, and the audience won't buy into having a gay guy play Lance on the screen. They need to get someone who is straight, as Lance is, otherwise no one will take it seriously and the movie will just end up a flop. I wouldn't rule out using Gyllenhaal as a competing French cyclist in the movie, as most every one of them is gay as can be.

what is this fascination with Lance Armstrong?? He's an amazing super-athlete but he's cheated on every woman in his life and seems like such an ego-maniac. for what it's worth - I don't know if Jake is gay is not - but he does appear to have a 'man-crush' on Lance these days. Maybe he's hoping that hanging out with Lance will boost his repuation as a cool 'guy's guy'. I don't think Lance is nearly as good looking as Matthew McC. but MM would be a better choice than Jake to play him. And those two have also spent a lot of time together lately if you believe photos in People!
