Longoria is Dead

First-time director Jeff Lowell has assembled a cast of pretty big names for his debut (which he also wrote) -- and with a name as clever as How I Met My Boyfriend's Dead Fiancée, who could possibly resist? (This must be the first in a long line of movies going the Snakes on a Plane-obvious route.) Eva Longoria, who has movie roles coming out of her pretty little (but possibly not that talented) ears, will play the titular character, with Paul Rudd as the grieving almost-widower. The film will tell the story of a "female psychic who falls in love with a skeptic while the ghost of his dead fiancée ... tries to keep them apart." The psychic will be played by TV's Lake Bell (Can't you just hear the pitch? "It's like Ghost, except really, really funny. And this time, the psychic is hot!"), who took her boobs last season from Boston Legal to Surface, a career move that seems to have won her the right to bring them to the big screen. Good work, Lake!

WONDERFUL! I'm thrilled to see such a depiction of a Psychic being portrayed on the big screen today. Too many times Psychics have been portrayed as Scam artists praying on the depression or needs of others. The more Shows and Movies that depict the more 'Real to Life' events that occur in a Psychics life the Better!
Many of us have been discussing topics just like this for the past few years and I am personally so glad to see this type of scenario being portrayed. Many Psychics do end up marrying or in long term relationships with Skeptics, tis a part of life.
I'd love to hear more of what others think too.

What is the BIG deal about Eva Longoria? Salma Hayak is one of the most beautiful and talented women around! Eva Longoria does NOT even come close!

I'm not skeptical- I just know your psychic "connection" is evil. Tell it like it is. Evil. The movie looks fun though.

Sorry.....but this sounds like a plot "borrowed" from a recent episode of "Ghost Whisperer".
Hollywood movie makers just do not have the imagination they once did. Too bad.

Kris it's the other way around. Movies take up to 3 years to go from page to screen. Even though I'm sure "Ghost Whisperer" didn't mean to borrow the plot, there is a chance that those writers came up with the same idea independently.

To POST # 9 - Don.
Sweetie...re-read my post. The movie industry does NOT have imagination anymore. Movie plots have been taken, or "borrowed, from TV episodes these many years and it is very sad. The "Ghost Whisperer" episode this year about a dead fiancee haunting the boyfriend's new girl.....sounds like the plot of this movie. Sounds like you are a script writer in need of a job. Good. Write a better plot and they will beat a path to your door! God bless.

Well, the plot may not be borrowed from the "Ghost Whisperer", but it is certainly not NEW. This sounds like a cross of "Blythe Spirits", "Topper", "Ghost", and a myriad of other movies, dating all the way back to the 30's. And while I'd have to agree that Hollywood's collective imagination seems to be on hiatus (except for the animated movies), let us not judge the originality of the movie until it is seen! ...By the way, isn't Eva Longoria on "Desperate Housewives" and didn't she just get nominated for an Emmy for it? That indicates to me that she isn't such an inept actress as the reviewer seems to indicate.

wow... how stupid can people get... just because a person is psychic doesn't mean they know everything... and most of them don't want to. and also, psychic doesn't have to mean that you can see the future... there are other psychic abilities... try knowing wat ur talking about before you say something... otherwise you sound really stupid...

Interesting...a person who types "try knowing wat ur talking about before you say something... otherwise you sound really stupid...". Perhaps you should use spell check prior to calling a person stupid, because last I heard 'wat' is not a word and neither is "ur" Oh, and I have to agree with J. Haifetz's post. What is the facination with Eva Longoria? Sure, she's cute but certainly not as gorgeous as everyone seems to think she is.
