The Old Release Date Shuffle
Filed under: Distribution, DIY/Filmmaking, Harry Potter
A plethora of release date announcements and changes have hit the net for all the world to see. While this may not be of interest to some of you, the words 'Harry Potter' are mentioned below ... along with something called a Half-Blood Prince. Check it out:
- Even though it's nowhere near time for production yet, the big-screen version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been given a release date of November 21, 2008. Should the date stick, this will mark the closest amount of time in between the release of two Potter flicks. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix hits theaters on July 13, 2007.
- Justin Timberlake's Alpha Dog has finally settled in to a release date, eying January 12, 2007. Yeah, let's see if that happens.
- The next Halloween film (directed by Rob Zombie) will, hopefully, scare the living hell out of you when it arrives in theaters on October 19, 2007.
- The Roland Emmerich-directed 10,000 B.C. has been pushed back six months from July 27, 2007 to December 14, 2007.
- The Visiting (Invasions of the Body Snatchers remake), starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, has been delayed and pushed from early 2007 to November 2, 2007.
- The animated comedy Madagascar is looking to spit out a sequel on or around November 7, 2008.
- The Mandy Moore comedy License to Wed will attempt to snatch up those not interested in Transformers when it debuts next July 4th.
- Will Smith's I am Legend will venture into the post-apocalyptic world on November 21, 2007.
- Vince Vaughn's Christmas comedy, Fred Claus, will open up the holiday season a bit early on November 9, 2007.
- Finally, Jodie Foster will have to wait a little while longer before seeking revenge, as The Brave One has been pushed back from June 22, 2007 to October 12, 2007.
Thanks to Dark Horizons for the list.

The second closest. Chamber of Secrets came out almost exactly a year after Philosopher's Stone. Since then they'll all been 16-18 months after the previous.
