Sarah Michelle Deals With More Undead Snooziness
Filed under: Horror, Universal
How to make the world's most generic-looking horror movie:1. Cast Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead. (Newly brunette, so as to show her acting range.)
2. Have the story be about a woman who's being haunted by a long-dead stranger.
3. Call it The Return.
4. Make sure it's rated PG-13.
5. Use this trailer as promotional material.
Meh, maybe I'm just being extra-nasty for no good reason. I'm certain that The Return, which comes from a first-time screenwriter, a second-time director and a studio division generally known for inconsistent output, could be a phenomenally excellent horror movie.
Actually, no, I'm not. Flick opens on November 17th. DVD by the end of February.

Actaully SMG going brunette has nothing to do with her trying to show her acting range as it is her natural hair color. Points 2-5 are not even comment worthy due to being completely redundant. And though Rogue Pictures may not have released all pure-gems, if you can name a studio that has I'd love to hear it, however Rogue did release one of the best movies of the last decade, Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind, so I will keep my hopes up for this movie.

See, I'm with Mr Weinburg on this - simply because Sarah Michelle Gellar's involved.
I loved Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and I really enjoyed Cruel Intentions. She was awesome in that, and it showed she really could be sexy if she tried.
She needs a half-decent film to prove to the world she can act, and it can't involve zombies, vampires, any other undead, or Scrappy Doo.
Still, gotta love the brunette thing. Christina Ricci did the opposite by going blonde, and she's about the only actress it worked for. Mind, Ms Ricci's wonderful in every way. :)
