Radcliffe on Potter: Die Harry, Die!

Those of you who are die hard Harry Potter fans may want to close your eyes for this story, as it has to do with the death of your beloved hero. As J.K. Rowling finishes up the final book in her blockbuster series, all focus appears to be centered around one very important question: Will Harry Potter die?
Rowling has admitted that two characters will die in the seventh book, though one does get a reprieve. Hmm, is Harry one of those two characters? While folks like Stephen King and John Irving are against the death of the world's most famous boy wizard, Harry Potter himself is all for a kick-ass climactic death scene. That's right, Daniel Radcliffe wants Harry gone ... for good. According to the actor, "It may be the only way the evil Voldemort could be killed is if Harry dies, because there is a strong connection between them." Seems plausible. Then again, there was a strong connection between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader ...

As soon as I saw The Matrix Revolutions I turned to my sister and told her the Harry Potter series would end in a similar way. Harry will realize that the only way to kill Voldemort is to kill himself. Neither can exist while the other still lives. My sister refused to believe it, but I've stood by that all along, and it looks like it may end up like that.

I hope that Harry dies. Don't get me wrong, I love the books but if Harry dies then it stops any sequels that some idiot might do to ruin the series.

I think Harry will die because I think he is one of the horcruxes. I think that when Voldemort killed Harrys parents, he put a piece of his soul into Harry. (If it can be put into a human...)

ok, in the 5th book the prophecy said "neither can live while the other survives" so if harry dies won't voldemort just be able to kill more people and make more horcruxes? if he dies i just hope voldemort dies first because now that dumbldore's gone there will be no one to defeat voldemort.
DUH!

I would probably walk around in a daze for a month if Harry dies at the end of the seventh book. However, I think the more intriguing question to discuss is "Who is R.A.B.?" Personally, my best guess would be Regulus Black, Sirius' brother, since you will remember that it was revealed that he was killed by Voldemort himself because he had betrayed Voldemort in some way. What kind of betrayal would warrant Voldemort to do the job himself? I would say that destroying one of his horcruxes would! Wouldn't you agree? But, it's just a theory.

This is why I hope they don't release Book & and Movie 5 (the next one) at the same time. If Harry dies, some people (me!) may be so devastated that they might refuse to see movie 5/6/ and def. 7. Less money to you, Missy Jo, think about that!!! (small voicepleasedon'tkillHarry!)

I don't think he will die. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that he will die, but I just don't see it happening. I believe there will be a major twist/killing in the book and Harry won't be apart of it.

well let's not look at harry in a suicidal way. definetly before he does die (which he will) he will probably realize that he can take lord voldermort with him. i think the end of this book calls for a bittersweet ending. like....both voldermort and harry dying, but ron marying hermione. hahaha

here's a weird thought. all the connections that we have seen between H and V were magical. gift of snake speak, common wands, the sorting hat picking up on an essense of V in harry and almost putting him as Draco's bunkmate, the dreams.
what if it is the magic that is actually the common thread. like if Harry is a horacrux he's tapping into it to increase his magic.but not on purpose.
but now the two are linked. so if you destroy one part of Harry's magic, you destroy it all and V's magic is destroyed. Remember when Dumbledore said something about there are worse things than death. maybe that's the worse thing. for someone like V to be left with no magic. to be made mortal. for Harry it wouldn't be a super huge deal because he was basically mortal for 11 years (in his mind at least cause he wasn't aware of his magic) and his friends wouldn't abandon him. I'm sure they would figure out some way to switch his wizard money for magic money and to give him entrance to his house (that Sirius left him) etc. but for voldy, that would be torture.
and since there's really no story in Harry the boy that was a wizard but isn't now, the sequel issue is solved.

I don't think Harry is a horcrux because that has to be a very intentional thing to do, and since Voldemort was sure he would kill Harry there was no reason to do that. Also supposedly if JK wishes a Wizard a Happy Birthday on her official website the survive, and Harry has already been wished a happy birthday.

Man, I think he'd better die. I love Harry, don't get me wrong, he's like my fav. little wizarding man and stuff but it would be such a more dramatic ending. And in all honesty, I'm bored of the good guy always living and the bad guy always dying. The Matrix had that little twist and it was a great ending. If Harry dies, it'll be sad and stuff but amazing and he will have even more fame then he already does in both the wizarding world and the real world.

I started reading the Harry Potter series many years ago at the urging of my then 11 year old daughter. Since then she and I have anticpated each new sequel with great delight. We have waited in line at midnight, dressed in costume, argued over the plots and have generally grown closer discussing these books.
Harry Potter represents most of what is missing in our society, loyalty, honesty, friendship, love and humility to name just a few of the traits Harry embodies. In an age where there is little of what can be considered good in our world to kill off Harry would be wrong. Long live Harry and what he means to young and old alike-Hope and perseverance!
