Fantastic Four and the Ever-Changing Title!

If you remember a few months back, I did an interview with TV & movie-writer Don Payne, presently of The Simpsons and the recently-vanished My Super Ex-Girlfriend. He's also the screenwriter on next year's Fantastic Four sequel, and he just dropped me an email to offer some news that's presently making the rounds: The sequel title is officially Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.I'm hardly the resident comics expert (Mark's on vacation!), but think it's a nifty enough title ... better than something like Fantastic Four 2 or Fantastic Four: More Four!, I suppose. According to reports, the Surfer will be portrayed in his villainous stage, and I'm picturing the guy as sorta like a live-action Frozone -- which sounds pretty cool to me, but my knowledge of The Silver Surfer is pretty much limited to the Tarantino-penned piece of banter from Crimson Tide. Oh, and Dr. Doom is back too, as are the original Fantastic Foursome and director Tim Story.
FF: ROSS tentpoles next summer.

The RISE of the Silver Surfer. Are we setting him up for a Fall, or maybe for his own movie(s)? Is this going to be an obvious first part, with the Big G himself appearing at (or near) the end?
Personally, I'm very worried about them biting off more than they can chew with the Surfer. Especially trying to do whatever with him and Doom at the same time. Doom will try to steal his power, right? Maybe succeed? Yeah, that's the ticket ... Doom with the Power Cosmic will try to take on Galactus in part 3!
Honestly, I'd rather they go small with Puppet Master, or PsychoMan, or Malice (!) and try character development of the 4 more. I'll try to stay positive and hopeful.

Hmmm.... I think you've got the Silver Surfer confused with Iceman (who was on a cartoon with Spider-man in the 80s). They are ussually drawn very similar so don't feel bad about mixing them up.
Here's photos of them, from Wikipedia

I think he meant the whole surfboard thing. If I remembmer correctly, frozone also had a surfboard. However, I see your point about Iceman. Silver Surfer definitely had more of a sleek body, but is hard to make them look too differently.

I'm a big Silver Surfer fan so seeing him on the big screen would be pretty cool, although with the job Tim Story did on the first Fantastic 4, I wish the sequel had a different director. Unless Story has learned from his mistakes on the first film.
