Battle Season for Charlize and Her Man

Even if they've successfully made names for themselves as actors (unless, of course, those names are "Clint Eastwood" and "Robert Redford"), most new writer-directors have to start pretty small their first time out. When, however, the writer-director in question can roll over in bed and pitch his story to an Oscar winner, he's got something of an advantage over all other kids who dream of directing. The lucky man in this case is Irish actor Stuart Townsend, whose Oscar-winning girlfriend Charlize Theron has agreed to appear in Battle in Seattle, which Townsend will direct from his own script.The film is set during the 1999 WTO meeting in Seattle, and will examine the chaos around the meeting through "an eclectic group of demonstrators, include environmental activists, doctors, anarchists, attorneys, eco-terrorists and just plain folks." I'd be more impressed with a conspiracy movie penned by Townsend about the evil forces behind ABC that caused them to cancel *Night Stalker* twice.
Btw, the *Night Stalker* two-disc DVD set is pretty sweet.

I think that Stuart Townsend is a very talented actor and can't wait to see his debut of WTO. I think the WTO is a subject that requires a great team like this. I also loved "Night Stalker" and hated to see it go.
