Star Wars TV Show Casting Rumor
Filed under: Action, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Casting, RumorMonger, Fandom, George Lucas
Though it will be awhile before George Lucas shovels out his much-anticipated Star Wars-themed live-action TV show, the casting rumors are beginning to heat up. After all, with something like Star Wars, casting is everything. (I'm still not crazy about them bringing on Hayden Christensen to play Anakin, but what are you gonna do? We'll let that one slide for now.)
According to an interview with TV Guide writer Michael Ausiello, Edward Furlong might be in the running for a part. At first, you'd think the dude would be interested in reprising his role as John Connor in the Sarah Connor Chronicles, but no -- he's looking to travel to a galaxy far, far away instead. When asked what he has coming down the pipeline, Furlong said, "Some CSI, and then maybe the Star Wars TV series, man." Could Eddie be training as a Jedi? I can't even remember the last time I saw this guy in anything (apparently he's doing a little indie work now), but their casting choices could be worse, right? Heck, he's better than Hayden.

Umm- this takes place after Revenge of The Sith so it doesn't really matter who plays Anakin as you won't see his face. He'll be wearing the Vader suit. Hopefully for continuity's sake with Jame Earl Jones' voice...

What some people don't get: Flashbacks. Hayden Christensen will be doing the flashbacks of before Revenge of the Sith, so rumors have it.

I hope it's not another prequel. It should start after "Return of the Jedi"

I'm still waiting for the last 3 movies of the series to be made. Everyone is holding their breath to find out what happens to Luke and Leah. Heard rumors of Luke going to the dark side to fight the dark hand. I don't think they are going to get the series to last very long, I foresee a nose dive for the Force. I guess time will tell! May the Force be with you...Always!

It would be sweet if they did anything TV or Movies with the Timothy Zahn w/George Lucas, written 3 book series of post return of the jedi like 5 years after. books were called- Heir to the empire, Dark force rising, and The last command. out of the numerous branches of stories after the fall of vader and palpetine this in my opinion was the best. but to be honest I never read much of the others because of the description having a very generic feel much like Government cheese!

Who really cares, i mean star wars ended after the credits rolled on the movie, there is not a point to make a tv show. Its just a way for Lucas to make money because he hasnt had a hit since the first trilogy. The new movies are horrible and are not a credit to the classics, and they to were just a way for Lucas to make a quick buck.

If anything needs to be done Star-warsy on TV, it sould be based on the Mandalorian wars, or around that time period. I'm thinking along the lines of the Knights of the Old Republic games. Maybe from the eyes of a group of padawans possibly in their mid to late teens. There are not many books and characters already existing from this time period, so you can go in any direction with character development. You go post "Jedi" you have many books you must consider and work around. Doesn't give you much room to move.

The show will take place between episodes III and IV. Lucas has said this about the series many times even before Episode III came out.
I can't see Eddie playing anyone in anything Star Wars. In my opinion, he doesn't have much credibility and he doesn't have the look of a Jedi or a bad-ass. This has to be one of the most ridiculous SW rumors I've ever heard.
