Rutger Hauer Documentary Premieres at Dutch Film Festival
Filed under: Documentary, Foreign Language, Other Festivals, Cinematical Indie
Rutger, we hardly knew you.Don't worry; he's not dead (his career, now, that's open for discussion ... but I digress). The actor who 99% of the population know as "the guy from Blade Runner" has had a documentary made about his life -- no, really, a whole movie!
Written and directed by Simone de Vries, (Kinky Friedman: Proud to Be an Asshole from El Paso) Blond, Blue Eyes premiered last week at the Dutch Film Festival, and follows Hauer through a bizarre array of locations ranging from a farm in the Netherlands to his personal yacht (Rutger Haur has a yacht? I guess residuals from Buffy the Vampire Slayer still come in after all).
Hauer is currently working on his autobiography, so here's hoping there's at least one anecdote from the set of Blind Fury. The man also plans to direct a feature about Dutch banker Wally van Hall who saved thousands during WWII. (Think of it as Schindler's List, but with windmills.)

Oh Lol.
Rutger, we hardly knew you???-Lol again.Speake for yourself.
You sound like a person that doesnt go to the movies that much.
And if you dont know Rutger Hauer how can you write about him.
I dont like your style, whatever you might be,I dont like when people writes about what they dont know.
Try to read a bit more ,go to the movies ,talk with people;it s better to do all that before writing .
You see; some of us readers likes to read interesting stuff, not a bunch of empty letters in a empty space.
So you dont know Rutger Hauer ?
Try to learn something first.Lol.
Gezz; you sound like someone who needs to learn something about everything.

C'mon, the guy has progressed from headlining some cheesy, yet entertaining straight to video flicks in the mid 90s to being a solid character actor in some of the biggest releases of the last couple years. One does not appear in both Sin City and Batman Begins in the same year and not own a yacht.
Jess: I kid because I love, Hauer is the perfect example of a good actor who just didn't fit the Hollywood mold and got relegated to the video bin as a result. Plus I would never think badly of the man who mouthed those eternal words "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe"

Rutger Hauer...yeah he's also the guy that doesn't sleep with Joan Chen Damn in Blood of Heroes. I always thought there should have been a sequal to that film...oh well. Though I'm curious to see the man behind his roles and maybe this documentary will shed a little light on his acting style. Here's hoping.

How can you not know a man who has been in well over 100 movies??? Rutger has done some great movies and is respected as a great actor. Maybe some of his movies weren't great but the man still is and he has to make those yacht payments somehow.
Personally I will watch anything he's in, but thats just me
