Ain't It Cool News Puts Transformers Producer On the Defensive
Filed under: Action, Celebrities and Controversy, Fandom, Comic/Superhero/Geek, Remakes and Sequels
I may poke fun at Ain't It Cool news from time to time for their overwhelming enthusiasm and use of exclamation points, but like most geeks, I respect Harry Knowles and the crazy, crazy job he does. The same apparently cannot be said for Transformers producer Don Murphy, who in a recent flame post on his message board referred to Harry's site as "Ain't it S**t news." A profoundly witty man, that Murphy ... he can really zing those insults off, and with such clever turns of phrase. At any rate, Murphy was responding to images of Optimus Prime seen on Ain't it Cool News, and the money part of his quote was: "You know -- no one from the production ever confirmed anything that was leaked to Ain't It S**t News. So it may have been actual photos or it may not have been. The bad poet Diabetes has reported on here that Megatron's head will be changed. From what? Did we ever release an official pic of Megs? No sir we didn't. I CAN tell you that Megs' head will not look like he did in the leaked pics."So there you have it, folks. Your friendly neighborhood producer Don Murphy reminds you "don't trust the internets." Thanks, Don!

The guy has a vested interest in lying about these things (especially Megatron) considering no fans of the series likes the changes that he has made.

With a resume like that, why are people so worried? ;-)

Changed from those LEAKED PICS you just mentioned, perhaps? Duh.

You shouldn't judge someone you don't really know. You think because he doesn't dilute his opinion for the sake of pleasantries that he is a bad guy? Well, he's a nice guy. Whether his feelings towards AICN are justified or not, the fact that you think this is article-worthy is laughable. I guess that's the nature of the entertainment reporting business, try to fit pieces together and form some kind of opinion on a person whom you don't know. What do you care what this guy says of AICN? Do you write reports on all the other hundreds (thousands?) of people blasting AICN on the internet? You take a portion of one post on his messageboard and make it seem as though it's anything more than a passing comment sharing his opinions. A lot of people would like him to explain this leaked image or that "news" report on another website, so he says what he thinks, it's not a big deal. The part that was quoted is hardly disagreeable, except perhaps for the portion which says he thinks AICN is "S**T"... so? An article about why you think AICN is good would actually have substance, as opposed to this.
