Live Action Bratz Find Their Director

Okay, so here is where I show my age ... which is none of your business thank you very much. I am not at all familiar with the Bratz dolls, other than the fact that they look like underage hookers and have really disproportionate heads and bodies. But, since little girls seem to love them, there are already magazines, albums, a TV show and now a live-action movie on the way.
Back in May, Erik reported on the live-action film which is being put together by MGA Entertainment and Crystal Sky Pictures, but a director had not yet signed on. However, it was announced on Tuesday that Sean McNamara (Raise Your Voice) would hop onboard and take over helming duties on the project. The screenplay follows Yasmin, Ari, Cloe, and Jade bonding over social pressures at Lewis & Clark High School -- it sort of sounds like Mean Girls, except with no actual point. I mean they're dolls, people! I always thought Barbie was a bit of a "good time girl" but these gals dress like Soul Train dancers and wear as much makeup as a Vegas cocktail waitress. Yeah, it's kind of disturbing.
Production is set to begin this February.

we actually won't let our daughter have those (she's only 4 anyway) precisely for the observations you make-- they're little ho's!

We won't allow them either.
They're ridiculously evil things. We call the 'Prosti-tots'.
That's hilarious, I'll have to remember that one!

Bratz are horrible little dolls... Come on, they are supposed to be children toys, but yet on the back of one of the doll boxes it gives the story that goes along these lines
"we walked in the moonlight on the beach getting closer than ever before" COME ON... that is perverted and horrible.. I will NEVER let my daughter have one of those nasty things. Whoever came up with the whole idea needs to be slapped and stoned by the public.. lol..

I echo everyone's comments. I can't believe people actually buy this sleaze for their daughters. My 4-year-old knows that these things are not allowed in our house and she teases me about it every time she sees one ("look, Mom, Bratz!!") But at least she is learning the difference between class and trash. Go Barbie!

Bratz dolls are exactly what they should be; fun and glamorous. Since when is it a doll's responsibility to teach a child how to dress? That is the parent's job, not a toy.

You admit to not being familar with the Bratz line and then go on to bash them? They have current updated fashions all ages wear and their storylines include saving up for and buying a car, starting a magazine on their own, traveling the world, helping animals- all positive all empowering. From the sales numbers its clear a lot of PARENTS are buying these dolls. If you are not familiar with the doll line why don't you not bash them until you look into them and all that makes up the line and its stories.
