Bynes Joins the Seven Dorks

Not being a teenage girl I sometimes get my teenybopper it-girl actresses confused. If memory (and imdb) serves, Amanda Bynes is the one in What a Girl Wants and She's the Man, not the one in Material Girls and the Casper Meets Wendy TV Movie (that's Hilary Duff, btw) or the one in A Walk to Remember and Saved! (Mandy Moore, hello?) or the one in the Freaky Friday remake and Mean Girls (Lindsay Lohan, for those keeping score at home).Man, even though they're all different people (of course) they do tend to blend together a little -- at least for me (not a teenage girl, remember?). Anyway, this particular post is not about any of those other mean, material or otherwise saved girls. No, this post is about that other girl who apparently knows what she wants -- Amanda Bynes.
According to our friends at production weekly, Bynes was recently attached to star in the upcoming flick Sydney White and the Seven Dorks, scripted by Chad Creasey and directed by Joe Nussbaum. Bynes would play the role of Sydney in the film -- which, believe it or not, is an updated take on the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs fairy tale set among college freshmen in the Greek system. Unpopular Sydney comes to campus and ends up challenging the top sorority hottie, Rachel, for the premiere spot in the Greek-babe pecking order.
Amanda Bynes playing a college-age sorority girl in a movie? Boy, they really grow up so fast, don't they? What's next, Lindsay Lohan pretending to service some guy on screen? Oh, wait. No word on additional casting or a start date for this little gem but don't worry girls, I'm sure you won't have to wait too long.
Which of these hot young actresses is your favorite?

I'm not a teenage girl, but I can tell them apart. My favorite is Bynes, and I'm hoping she'll eventually crossover from teen actress movies. Maybe with Hairspray?

I'm not a teenage girl either and my hands down favorite of this group is Amanda Bynes. While none of her work approaches the Shakespearean (well, "She's the Man" might fall LOOSELY into that category being a Twelfth Night reimagining), she has yet to be in a stinker of a film, far from it actually. I find her films to be a refreshing change from Lohan's underwhelming acting and offscreen diva antics. Neither Duff nor Moore has put anything out on a regular basis and with the exception of "Saved", nothing really worthy of more than a passing mention. Bynes has a terrific comedic sense and can actually carry a film either as its star or co-star. I may not run out to the theater and catch her latest however I know that I will seek it out when released on DVD and more importantly, that it will be worth the 90 or so minutes I commit to watch it.

Heh, I've thought only I was mixing up these girls with each other. :) But I agree, the movies with Bynes are the best.

I'm equally as male and over 20 as Christopher & Michael, and I agree with both of them.

Amanda Bynes is very funny and exciting a new talent. She did extremely good work in She's the Man with a balance of tenderness, fun, comedy and inspiration that makes the comments she's an actress in the spirit of Lucille Ball more then mere hyperbole. I wish I could more adequately put my finger on what she has, because she has a quality about her that creates excitement and makes you care about her in the full spectrum from the actress to the character she brings to life. She is going to be big, very very big, and she has the qualities and temperament to never let it spoil her of go to her head. Thank you Amanda, you are the Woman.

I am a teenager and i think that amanda bynes is the best out of them all. She is hilarious. There hasnt been a movie or show of her's that I have hated. I love the show what I like about you. Also the movie she's the man is one of my favorites. Bynes brings something that all the other young actresses just can't bring to the table.
