BREAKING NEWS: Simpsons Movie! Trailer!
Filed under: Animation, Comedy, 20th Century Fox
Just a few days ago we learned that the very first trailer for The Simpsons Movie would be premiering on Fox, sometime around 8pm last night. So we tuned into The Simpsons (which was a really solid episode, btw) and waited patiently for the commercial breaks. And then there it was! The trailer opens with a silly little piece of CGI fluffery, which then gives way to Homer Simpson doing what he does best: hurting himself. I'll save the clip's few surprises for you to discover, but needless to say I cannot wait to see this movie. Feels like I've been waiting over a decade for a Simpsons movie.
Oh yeah, I have been.

If that trailer was supposed to encourage hope in a revitalized Simpsons, then we are certainly doomed.
I blame ALL on Dana Gould.

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about it either. I still feel this film is coming way too late, and while a half hour is perfect for a cartoon, an hour and a half of Simpsons will probably feel way too long. However, the way to see this will be on opening night in a packed theater full of Simpsons fans. That, I must say, will be a blast.

The theatrical trailer felt more like a teaser. I felt dissapointed in what was covered in it, but I couldn't help laughing from the cute bunny in the beginning to the hurtful joke in the end. I am impatient now more than ever.
