Bollywood's Potential Wonder Woman Stays Coy

I think I'm addicted to Joss Whedon. Not in his works, or anything, just to writing about the man. When it is your business to hound the geek movie world looking for scraps of information about the cinematic happenings of all things sci-fi/fantasy/comic book, you run into Joss Whedon around just about every corner. However, it has been a number of days now since I've written anything about the man, and like any good addict, I'm feeling jittery. I needs me my fix. I ran into Metro on the cyber street, and dude hooked me up. Since we still haven't settled on an actress for Whedon's Wonder Woman, the issue is still up for intense rumor mongering. An old favorite of the rumor mill, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, has popped back up again, slyly bringing her name back into the discussion by pointedly not talking about the issue. Well ... technically she is talking about it, but only by talking about how she won't talk about it. See how that works? Chopra told Metro "Till something happens, I don't want to talk about it. I'm not confirming the news or denying it right now." Saying "I don't want to talk about it," is a perfectly legit comment for any actor/actress to make; we can all imagine how tired they must get of addressing the same rumors over and over again. But throwing on that coy little "not denying it right now" is just begging for people to presume you've had all kinds of conversations about it and just don't want to share it with us right now.

Her unknown acting abilities aside, Catherine McPhee from "American Idol" looks ridiculously like Linda Carter back in the day.
I had hoped for Charisma Carpenter from the Wheden entourage, but her name hasn't been mentioned in forever.

Oh lord no, why on earth would Priyanka Chopra be considered for Wonder Woman? Why?
I'm not choosing someone else, and I'm all for an Indian, but not Chopra.

If we're talking Indian actresses (which I think is an AWESOME idea), I think Aishwarya Rai is the only woman for the job. She is stunning.
If we have to go white, I really hope they choose someone who doesn't look like she's 17. She's Wonder *Woman* not Wonder Girl... How about someone in her late 20s? :)
I know, I ask the impossible...

Aishwarya Rai isn't the only stunning Indian actress. I happen to have the soundtrack for Don in front of me, and looking in the booklet I have enough evidence that Priyanka Chopra is quite stunning as well.
I actually wasn't all too impressed with Aishwarya Rai's looks when I watched Dhoom 2. Still, it was a fine 2-and-a-half hours of exploiting the female body. One wonders why the audience is so amazed about a kiss after all that.

I'm still wishing for Monica Bellucci but I'm sure she's too "blessed" for Joss Whedon's tastes. Even Charisma Carpenter would no longer qualify.
If the producers are looking at casting an attractive (and talented) "Indian" actress, why aren't they considering Indira Varma? She's very attractive, and she's also genre-friendly (appearing in *Torchwood*). Plus, she rocked in *Rome*.

Nadia Bjorlin is the right choice. She is the real deal. Besides, Whedon'script was rejected . This film may never get made. If it does Nadia should get the nood.

She does not have the body esp. in the waist and hips. This Wonder Woman is sounding more like Wonder Teen. Wonder Woman should be a true amazon.
