EXCLUSIVE: '300' Screensavers
Filed under: Exclusive Photos, Hold the 'Fone
We previously brought you a sneak peek of the film, and now we've got something even cooler: screensavers. Yes, just as Leonidas fought to save Thermopylae from the invading Persians, he can fight to save your computer screen from the invading ... uh, things that can ruin your screen. Seriously, though, these things are pretty freakin' awesome. Be sure to check them out.

First look at the topic, creates an intrigued feeling that wants to learn more about the "300". Without stealing information from other sites that have info about the 300 Spartans, I will elaborate why I am thrilled about the production of these legendary soldiers. The main reason I want to watch this movie is because I hope they have captured the magnitude of the unfair battle between the Persian Batallions and the handfull of 300 Spartans (lead by "Leonidas" the Spartan Warrior) as described in history books from the 500 B.C. or so..
In reality, "The 300 of Leonidas" (as it should be the title of the movie) fought against thousands of spearmen, swordsmen, bowmen, and infantry in one single day. The strategically holded their position, by squeezing the fight between two mountains. And by using "tank" techniques, they took out myriads of persian soldiers and eventually driving off the enemy by fear. Great story, and great senario for a movie. One negative, that came to me, is the existence of mythic creatures in the movie. It makes it more PG-13, than what it should be. Anyway, hope it turns out fun to watch!
Cheers

I am super-pumped for this movie. The trailer seems to capture the look and feel of the graphic novel. The way I see it, Frank Miller and Lynn Varley creating a masterpiece and a more than adequate blueprint for an outstanding feature film. The story is old, so it really boils down to how it gets told. The filmmakers better not blow it.
I was actually hoping for the cinematic version of Stephen Pressfield's novel Gates of Fire, but Miller's interpretation of the tale stands on its own. I hope this movie will stand on its own as well.

Yes Im excited, I'll be going in costume as a Spartan, as a history major and student of Ancient Greece I'm thrilled as heck!!!, While I'm not expecting historical accuracy, I am looking forward to seeing epic scenes of some of the worlds finest soldiers in history!!!
I just want to know where the 600 Thespeians are going to be who stood with Leonidas and his Spartans for those three days.
