Golden Globes: Jennifer Hudson Gets The Party Started
Filed under: Music & Musicals, Awards
It's that time of the year again, and Cinematical is proud to present our annual live-blogging of the Golden Globes. The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards will boast more than 50 presenters -- including folks like Steven Spielberg, George Clooney, Dustin Hoffman ... and John Stamos. Love to see Stamos making his comeback.
This year, NBC kicks off with the song I'm already sick to death of -- "One Night Only" from Dreamgirls ... the extra special club remix version. Thump. Thump. Brad Pitt. Will Smith. Thump. Thump. Right off the bat, George Clooney makes a funny and gives Leonardo DiCaprio the award for Best Supporting Actress, then pauses for required laughter and gives the Globe to Jennifer Hudson. Really?
Ryan accurately predicted Hudson's win, as well as the fact that Hudson would thank God. On second thought, who didn't she thank? There was crying, laughter, applause, a dedication (what more could you want?) and -- my favorite part -- it made her feel like part of the community. (Because everyone knows that each Globe winner must complete 37 hours of community service.)

Come on, Mr Davis, this is a huge event in the life of Ms Hudson, and you know it.
She nailed the role with no acting experience whatsoever. All credit to Bill Condon for taking a chance with her, and all credit to her for sharing an immense talent with us. Generosity is definately required here, not acid.
