EXCLUSIVE: First Look at New 300 Poster

Frank Miller fans, epic-movie junkies, Gerard Butler-loving women and comic book fanboys of the world, we've got a special treat for you: The first-ever peek at the new poster for 300.
Based on Miller's acclaimed graphic novel of the same name, 300 tells the story of a group of valiant Spartans -- somewhere in the vicinity of about 300 I'd say -- who made a stand against the reputedly invincible and undeniably gargantuan Persian army at Thermopylae in 480 B.C.
Fans of the graphic novel will note that the poster image bears an eerie resemblance to an illustration from Miller's book -- and this is no coincidence. Director Zack Snyder took painstaking care to make sure he did justice to Miller's work. And as this poster hints, the film appears to have all the action of Gladiator and the eye-catching visual beauty of Sin City. Not a shabby pedigree, if I do say so myself. Look for 300 in theaters on March 9.

Sure it is a nice recreation of the comic but that poster does nothing for me. In fact, it seems too busy for me.

I saw the trailer and it seems like its a trailer for a video game, not a movie. The lead actor seems like he is yelling out all of his lines.

FOOLS. All of you. It's a trailer for 300 Spartans kicking ass. That's all the movie is. If you don't like it, then go see Children of Men.
Which is damn good anyways.
Hmm.. and probably won't be in theaters in March anymore. WELL, you get my point.

look... read steven pressfield's "gates of hell"... it's a phenomenal tale. the story behind "300" is fantastic. those men were heroes and i'm excited to see the tale told on the big screen.
would have liked it based on pressfield's book... but i respect miller's writing/plotting, so i'm looking very forward to the movie.

I believe the poster is fairly nice, but the "prepare for glory" is just completely out of place, on a design point of view. It's another shade of red, thus clashing with the rest, and looks waaayy too modern for the rest of the composition. Makes the poster look cheaper. Take that away and change the same shade splatter to the shade of the number 300, and it would be allot more efficient.

Posters do not matter much, it is the content.
The movie looks like it is going for the Troy audience.
I will see this movie, my kind of action.
Cheers

I wonder if this entire movie will be in slow motion. The trailers I've seen are nothing but super-slow-mo action scenes. I'm not sure I would even recognize this movie at normal speed.
I'm still seeing this opening weekend.
"THIS... IS... SPAH-TAH!!!"

I can't believe what I'm reading here! The trailer for 300 is in slo mo exactly because it's so intense--it is NOT a timid movie! It is about the 300 Spartans who held the Hot Gates (passes into Greece) again a ginormous Persian army. They held those passes long enough for the Greeks to mobilize and keep Greece/Athens intact, and thus democracy was born. You betcha King Leonidas yelled at those men to fight hard against those odds. This should be awesome!

Although i am not a fan of comic books, 300 is an exceptional story and it is going to be phenomenal. Gerard Butler is a perfect and heroic King Leonidas and it is obvious he is not going to be shouting throughout the film, these are just major moments, words that need to be accentuated for effect.
I think the trailers have been very effective and will
catch people's attention.
The poster is not ideal, i have to say though.

I think that 300 is going to be a great film and I most certainly will be going to see it. I agree that of course he wont be yelling throughout the whole movie. The trailers are very good and I have heard very positve comments on them.
I am not all that fond of the poster personally.

Personally, I believe this movie is going to be amazing. The story is itself is incredible. I hope they have done it justice and can not wait for 300 to come out. I have to agree with everyone about this poster... not what I was expecting. I think it is too Sin City, and they should have omitted the "Prepare for Glory." It's out of place... I think they should publish 1 with the 300 soliders standing and waiting and have the slogan "This is SPARTA!" overhead...I think that would be better and more influencial to those who see it the poster yet have been unaware of the movies release. Just my opinion though....Definately going to see this movie regardless!!!!

The poster could possibly have been better, but is OK. However,300 itself is going to be fantastic. I am a fan of these type of movies and have been following its progress. I have seen the various
trailers, which were awesome and can see how much work has gone into the making of this movie. Bringing Frank Miller's comic book story to the screen has been done so well by the Director and I think it is something not to be missed, in fact I think all those who doubt it are in for a big surprise.
