Sundance Video Interview: Away From Her Composer Jonathan Goldsmith

Film isn't an element; it's a molecular process, made of individual, indivisible elements: Performance, writing, cinematography and many others -- including music. One of the strongest dramas at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Sarah Polley's Away from Her, features music from a variety of sources: The songs of Neil Young, the classical compositions of Bach -- and Jonathan Goldsmith's original score. Goldsmith talked with Cinematical about the challenge of scoring, his artistic choices and the film composer's art and craft.
