Indiana of the Jungle?

The dedicated folks over at spielbergfilms.com have translated an interview with Janusz Kaminiski in a Polish publication, and they have a couple of things to report. First, what we already know, that the long-time Steven Spielberg collaborator will indeed be lensing the forthcoming Indiana Jones film. Second, Kaminski apparently told the publication that he is gearing up to film the movie in "jungle locales" in addition to Los Angeles and other places around the world. What exactly is Indiana Jones going to be doing in the jungle? Could be pretty much anything, I guess.
In other Indiana Jones news, normally I wouldn't bother posting unsubstantiated gossip that circulates in the British rags, but this little item going around really caught my eye, because it stinks of George Lucas. According to the source, Harrison Ford had to resist his bosses' idea to have him 'wield' a computer-generated whip in the new film. Ford supposedly branded the idea "ridiculous," which is a comfort if this story has a grain of truth. Filming on the fourth Indiana Jones adventure is set to begin in June.

I just think that the star of AIR FORCE ONE, REGARDING HENRY, FIREWALL, and HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE isn't exactly the most reliable source of information on what is "ridiculous."
And if the idea of a 64 year-old actor in yet another Indiana Jones movie isn't the living idea of ridiculous, what the hell is?

I don't see what's so terribly wrong with a CGI whip, as long as they're reasonable about it. Then again, I could see Lucas trying to have Indy swing through the jungles like Spider-Man.

The jungle setting might simply be the action prologue that every Indiana Jones has. Or, maybe the story takes him to South America to battle the remnants of the Nazis (could be interesting). I wouldn't be too surprised if it were a lost city / civilization story, either.
A computer-generated whip used for anything more than a quick shot of an impossible trick would be silly. I doubt it's true. Lucas is CGI-happy, yes, but for the sake of things like exotic settings and bizarre characters. He might overuse it, yes, but he uses it for a reason. Give him some credit.

Another Indiana Jones movie? I think it's terrific! Harrison Ford is the ONLY actor who can play that type of role. Remember THE MUMMY? I don't - never saw it or had the inclination to view it. Brandon Frasier is NO Harrison Ford. Lastly, a CGI whip? You go Mr. Ford for kyboshing THAT crap.
