Saw 4 Buzzings Have Officially Begun
Filed under: Horror, Lionsgate Films, Home Entertainment, Remakes and Sequels
When you're compelled (by money and ravenous fans) to churn out another Saw movie every single year, you don't have much time to a) write a script, b) hire actors and c) keep everything a big fat secret. Case in point: It's been widely mumbled that David Hackl (production designer on Saw 2 and Saw 3) would be the one settling into the director's chair for Saw 4, and that seems a pretty good move: Get some fresh blood in there, but have it come from someone already inside the Saw family. (Plus it's probably pretty difficult to get an established director who can take a gig and start shooting "like, next month?")And now comes additional news. IGN Movies is reporting that Ja Rule will appear in Saw 4, but only in the first scene. (And we all know what that means!) Additionally, some guy who allegedly read the Saw 4 script (which we believe was written by Feast scribes Marcus Dunston and Tom Fenton) claims that Angus MacFadyen's character plays an important role -- but Angus Mac hasn't technically signed on for the sequel at this time.
Looks like production is scheduled to begin next month in Toronto, so we should have a lot more information within the next few weeks. In the meantime we can all sit down and enjoy our Saw 3 Unrated Version DVDs, a platter that's presently poised atop the DVD sales AND rental charts. (Interesting note: Not only was Saw 3 the top-selling DVD last week, but its arrival gave Saw and Saw 2 fresh life; they're both back on the Top 20 sales chart this week!)

What I'm kinda interested in knowing is will Eric Matthews be in it? I'm kinda suspicious to know whether he's the new JigSaw based off of the 3rd scene in Saw 3. Remember when Kerry was in the bathroom taking a bath? She walks out, looks into the mirror, and sees Matthews in the background? I wonder if Matthews was the one who abducted her there!

I am kinda curious to kno if Dr. Gordon from the first one is still alive. Because after he left and told Adam he promised he'd come back in the first Saw. They never showed what happened to him in Saw 2 or Saw 3. So i been wondering if hes still alive?

I think that no one will ever be able to replace Jigsaw, seeing that he's now dead doesn't mean someone else will take over for him. I believe that Saw IV and V will have Chris Tobin in them because he's been contracted for five Saw movies. I think the catch here is that Saw IV will be some sort of presequel dating back to the time before Saw I. We can conclude, due to our experience of Saw's crazy twists and turns, that Saw V will be the final Saw movie tying together the whole franchise in such a form that will never be able to be successed by any other movie; of course this doesn't mean that movie producers in the future will not attempt to give it a try.

wa?!?! no! it cant be Eric, that was was just a trick of the eye she saw, she even said to the black police man at the murder scene before that shed been seeing him everywhere. she felt bad so thinks she sees him. hes dead, as is Dr. Gordon. he failed his game, so jigsaw would of killed him when he left the bathroom, as Dr. Gordon woul dnot have been able to climb the ladder due to his foot.

I agree with the idea of Saw IV and possibly V being prequels... this helps carry out Tobin's contract without having to deal with the fact that his character is dead. The writers won't even have to worry about figuring out what to do next chronologically for another year!
One thing that I have yet to come across in ANY blog... is who the heck is the pretty lady in Jigsaw's dreams in Saw III? I am to assume the obvious: it is his wife who is dead. But she has never been mentioned before, and this continues my above theory about a prequel. That HAS to be explained.
Characters (_with LINES_) we haven't seen die:
Dr. Gordon
Dr. Gordon's wife and daughter
The slutty intern
The drill test subject guy
Daniel
Detective Matthews
The black cop from the 2nd and 3rd one
The white detective from the 3rd one
Jeff
Jeff's daughter
Chris (Lynn's boyfriend)
The woman in Jigsaw's dreams
(Did I forget anyone??)
I wouldn't be surprised if, before they stop producing films, that we see each and every one of these characters again. We can talk and guess all we want, but I somehow doubt the writers are going to throw something at us that anyone even remotely expected.

There's still too many questions to be asked to assume that saw 4 would be a prequel along with 5, thats rediculous! You have to think that 4 is going to answer the above mentioned questions, which involves cutting back to a shitload of scenes we have yet to see involving john, (jigsaw)! 4 is gonna finish off the franchise, so to say! But, with answering these questions, comes a lot of flashbacks and elaborations! This paves the way for the 5th installment to still have you saying to yourself, "how could i ever have guessed that?"---So, that would explain Tobins reoccurring role! # 4 is going to be one of the best sequel psychological thrillers ever, mark my words! Number 5 is going to "clutter: the franchise---in my opinion anyways!

After reading the letter, Amanda came into the room with Jigsaw & Lynn and she said something to the effect of you're giving control of me to her? So what is that supposed to mean? She had to have gotten that from the letter, so was it planned to put the rest of the sequence in events (Amanda shooting Lynn, Jeff shooting Amanda) to go along with his master plan or something else?

I believe the main story to circulate will be Jeff finding his daughter. I was, also, curious about the scene after the opperation in S3 in which we see John have a flashback and see some woman who he loves.
At first I saw that as a scene to prove that he is, merely, human. I, also, recall a scene in S2 in which it shows John in a huge car crash. I think that will be brough up, but I can't see Jigsaw coming back to life, this isn't a zombie movie.
I think that the black cop in S1 and the OTHER black cop in S2 and 3 will be in it.
One person EVERYONE has forgotten about is the woman Dr Gordon was with on the night he was stolen. Hmmm ... she could be in saw lV and V :o im so clever teehee ^-^

I agree with the suggestion that Saw IV will be a prequel because something has to be revealed about the lady john sees in his flashback. If it isn't a prequel it will be jeff trying to save his daughter. For some unknown reason i think that the new jigsaw would be the lady in john's flash back unless she died and that's y john had the flashback in the first place. i read on another forum that a guy gets taken by someone from a hotel and is forced to play the game with jeff but i'm not 100% sure on how accurate that is. but if it is true that would have to mean that there is another jigsaw or john is still alive (unlikely)

I found this on IMDB its the definate plot on the next saw... "Following the events of SAW 3, Jeff is now left puzzled as he struggles to survive. Locked in the building, Jeff needs to find his daughter and get out of there before they both die. While searching, he finds a video Jigsaw made after he found out he had cancer. What's on that video brings up a brand new twist that Jeff must figure out before he becomes a murder mystery"

18 I think Saw 4 will be a prequel. I think Dr Gordon is alive because he made a sacrifice (his foot) to save his family. What i don't understand is if John hated murderers, why was he willing to kill Jeff (from part 1, with the drills) for a greater purpose? I also believe that Eric from 2 and 3 is dead because John was so mad at Amanda for not letting him go when he broke his foot to get out. He said he past the test and should have been able ot see his son. I think Obi from part 2 (cameo in 3) probably did something to John's love from the flashback. When John is taking pictures of the woman, you can see Obi walking down the street. Is there some connection there? It may be one of the reasons John picked him for the game in 2. I have also been wondering about part 2. The girl from 7th heaven that was in it (I forget her name) was crying to Daniel a lot. She said, there's still so much to do and people to talk to. She held his hand and looked like her other hand was on her stomach. For some reason, I think she may have been pregnant and I'm thinking it may have been Daniel's. I wonder if this will come out? I think 4 and 5 may shed light on most or all of the people that were 2 and give some more background on them. I also think Troy (from the start of 3) may have been one of Amanda's dealers as it was her "test" not John's and there was no way he could win as the doors were sealed shut. She obviously had something against him and it seemed very personal to me. I know they will be going up to Saw 6, at least (listen to the commentary from 3 with James and Leigh) I think part 4 will start with Jeff saving Amanda as she may be his only chance of saving his daughter. I think the tape covered in wax will be the end and start of part 5. 4 is scheduled for October 2007...6 months and counting.

Yeah, back to what someone previously was saying, I've heard that Obi was rumored to play a more prominent role in SAW IV. I'm super-psyched about IV. I only hope they don't jump the shark with this, but I have confidence in their judgement. We shall see, no?
I don't know about y'all, but I can't wait to see Ja Rule's trap. Just thought I'd share. :D
