Weekend at Bernie's Remake Heading Our Way?

Not that it's a classic by any means, but the original Weekend at Bernie's is one of those films you can't help but laugh at (and with). Chock-full of physical comedy (as well as Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman in their "prime"), Bernie's was popular enough to warrant a very bad sequel which officially put an end to the trials and tribulations of our lovable duo and their best friend, a corpse. But now, Moviehole tells us a Weekend at Bernie's remake is very much in the works, with Ashok Amritraj and Jon Jashni producing for Hyde Park and MGM.
Next Weekend at Bernies will follow the same storyline as the first flick, except it will be set at a ski lodge instead of a beach house. Oh, I can almost see it now: Bernie's dead body somehow slips and slides down the slopes, while our two main characters (who also happen to be horrible skiers) attempt to strap on the snowboards and chase after him. Someone crashes into a tree -- there's a ski instructor who smells something fishy going on -- and all we have to look forward to is a five-second McCarthy/Silverman cameo. Is it just me, or is this the perfect project for Freddy Prinze Jr. and Sean William Scott?

While I would argue that Jonathan Silverman never had a prime, I LOVE Weekend at Bernie's, it's my secret shame. It's hard to say a remake would ruin a terrible movie, and yet I still feel strangely protective of it ...

Ski lodge? Then they remove the biggest excuse for throwing tons of girls in bikinis in the movie.

Well Weekend at Bernies III should staring James Earl Jones as the new New York Yankees coach names Charles Cooper that he use to be an assistant coach for the Boston Red Sox until they found out that coach Cooper is actually a Yankees fan so they kick him off the team and becams the new head coach of the New York Yankees.
While Berneis Lomax is brought to his family already dead while a close freind of Micheal Lomax(his younger brother) Alex Logan(Bernie Mac) a Mets fan notice something about Bernie(a voodoo spell done reversed during the second movie) that they did some voodoo on him. until Micheal his younger brother takes him to Boston and then when they go to a Red Sox game his brother a die hard Yankee fan looks at Bernie getting up and goes to the Yankees locker room to wear Babe Ruths number with the Yankees uniform until Charles Cooper(James Earl Jones) sees his Yankees team lead by Bernie Lomax that the Babe Ruth Curse is brought back to life and lead the Yankees to a World Series and the Yankees win. the movie will be called Weekend at Bernies III A Yankees Miriacle Starring Jamese Earl Jones as coach Charels Cooper of the New York Yankees and Bernie as a Yankee player with Babe's Ruth number.
It will be a great movie to watch at because it is called A Yankees Miracle and its going to be fun to watch how does a voodoo spell make the Yankees beat the Red Sox out silly with Bernie Lomax with the Yankees uniform playing like Babe Ruth.
