As much as his showbiz pedigree may indicate otherwise, Jake Gyllenhaal wasn't handed movie stardom on a silver plate. Long before he was trying to solve murders in Zodiac, Gyllenhaal was a boogery little tween in City Slickers. Same goes for Wild Hog John Travolta, who appeared in the asinine horror flick Devil's Rain ("Absolutely the Most Incredible Ending of Any Motion Picture Ever" – Guy Who Wrote the DVD Cover Copy). Contrary to what is stated by AOL, Val Kilmer performed his own songs in Top Secret!

Ah, yes, VK did sing his own songs, however, I think he lipsynched them in the movie.
In regards to SarahJP, the first I remember her from was "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" which also had Helen Hunt as her best friend. Love that!

Val Kilmer was not in Naked Gun, he was, however in Top Secret which is the espionage spoof movie described in the article.

John Travolta had a bit part in Emergency!, the paramedic show of the "70's. He played a lost hiker that had fallen and broken his leg. you see him more than you hear him.
