George Lucas: Natalie Portman Isn't In 'Indy 4' and Skywalker Saga Is Done
Filed under: Animation, RumorMonger, Fandom, Comic/Superhero/Geek, Remakes and Sequels
For those of you still wondering whether Natalie Portman will play Indy's daughter in Indiana Jones 4, George Lucas has three words for you: "No, absolutely not." The writer-producer-director spoke to IESB recently, where he told them -- point blank -- to ask him anything they wanted and he would tell them whether it was true or not. Now, I interview folks all the time and I can imagine there's a ton of pressure placed on you when George Lucas is standing there -- not to mention, when he says things like that. The girl from IESB did the best she could, primarily focusing on the Star Wars animated series.
Another wild rumor Lucas was quick to tackle was the one concerning another potential big-screen Star Wars trilogy, one that would take place after Episode VI. According to Lucas, "The Skywalkers are done." He did talk at length about the animated series, which he says takes place between Episodes I and II. Basically, all the characters from the first three episodes will be in there, as well as a host of new ones. There's a chance Boba Fett will make an appearance, but as Lucas states, "It's possible, but he's still a little kid -- remember that." On whether or not a clip or trailer for the animated series will be shown at Celebration IV, Lucas smiled -- but in a way that suggested IESB was reading his mind -- and said, "That, I cannot tell you." Finally, when asked if he had anything to say to Star Wars fans, Lucas replied, "Star Wars is not dead ... it's going to get better and better over the next few years."

It would be really nice if the Blu-ray Disc Association would give some serious cash to Lucasfilm to give their approval for both 20th Century Fox (in terms of *Star Wars*) and Paramount (*Indiana Jones*) to release George's two big heavy hitting franchises to Blu-ray now*.
Talk about kicking in the teeth of Toshiba and Microsoft in one swoop...
*Even though neither of these franchises are distributed by Sony Pictures, it would have the net effect of selling plenty of 60GB Sony PS3s in the meantime (since the 20GB models seem to be a legend), not to mention an upswing for Sony Online if a port of *Star Wars Galaxies* dropped on the PS3 at the same time.

Star Wars Galaxies died a year ago or longer. I don't even play MMORPG's but I knew that. If sony ported Galaxies, all they'd be doing is wasting their time.
As for the BluRay release of SW and Indy, Lucasfilm has already cancelled the planned 30 year anniversary megabox for SW after the half-assed release of last year to bring out the original versions onto DVD. IF they actually cared to bother, and released the original trilogy again, but remastered for widescreen, I'd seriously consider it. Once a format had been decided on.
I'm glad you're enjoying your PS3. I wouldn't touch one to save my life, let alone get one just to justify a HD video format. NEITHER format is worth investing in until ALL the studios decide to start investing in it. If I can't have Back to the Future, Star Wars, and LOTR all on one single format, I'll just hold off on picking a format.

Interesting he said the "Skywalkers" were done because technically the episodes after VI would focus on the Solo twins....Dun Dun Dun!

Seriously, why anyone pays any attention to this guy any more is beyond me. I'm not even sure why I read the post.

LOL!
I understand your concern Rorb, but I asure you he means to indicate the nostalgia point.
In other words the existing 6 films will be more appreciated as time goes by(like Casablanca).
People just let it go!!
I am the biggest Star Wars freak here (I quit the Marines back in 80's just to see the premiere of ROTJ. My wive divorced me when Episode 1 came out. I did not go to my father's funeral since i waited a month outside the Zigfield in NY for Sith.
It took a lot of therapy at the SWA (Star Wars Annonimous)
but now I'm Lucas free.
Let it go!!

Starwars and the entire fictional universe created by Lucas is still in my opinion one of the richest most diverse creations ever undertaking in modern times. The story can be attacked from so many angles and using so many different characters while still retaining the spirit of the original plot. I have played "Knights of the Old Republic" (a.k.a KOTOR) and KOTOR2:The Sith Lords...no Darth Vaders in sight but the games played like an interactive movie as gripping as the movies themselves, every twist and turn keeps you guessing what might happen next...If these games were to be converted faithfully into movies they would be spectacular in their own right...that's why the hunger for new Starwars material never wanes..and remember that the first movie came out in the 70's!
