Joanna Cassidy Reshoots Scenes for 'Blade Runner' DVD

Joanna Cassidy has just reported that she finished reshooting original scenes from 1982's extraordinary sci-fi hit Blade Runner. Cassidy made this announcement on her website which Film Ick picked up to help spread the word quicker throughout the cyber community. The new director's cut Blade Runner DVD is obviously in the making and I'm not sure what to expect since they are recreating shots more than twenty years later. Cassidy is still incredibly beautiful, and her scene -- to me -- is one of the sexiest fight scenes between robot and human ever.Cassidy happily proclaims that she was able to wear her costume that she kept all these years after shooting the original production. From what I can remember, she wasn't wearing much to begin with. Joanna Cassidy plays Zhora, a replicant (human clone) who is one of five 'skin jobs' that makes their way back to Earth and is hunted down by retired blade runner Rick Deckard -- played by the über sexy Harrison Ford. Other lovely replicants included Daryl Hannah and Sean Young; there is no word on whether the two have reshot any of their scenes for the DVD version.
An anonymous individual reported to Film Ick that there were some incredible edits to Zhora's chase scene that could change the sequence in its entirety. It is reported that there are more physical blows to her body, better lighting, new camera angles and the model/actress dons a pair of heels instead of flat boots. The Ridley Scott director's cut version DVD of Blade Runner will be released later this year.

Isn't it a bit late for April's Fool Day jokes? This does not sound like a good idea and besides haven't there been enough versions of Blade Runner already out? I mean really, if dude wants to remake the movie then remake it but messing with what is already out there and in our heads is not appreciated.

Wouldn't it be considered "Robot vs Robot" fight scene, since Decker was a replicant?

That seems to be an issue much in debate. (Decker's status)

Strange to think that, this late in the game, there's a market for a remake of this movie. I know some people are fetishists for mondo effects, but enough to warrant investing in beefing up the incredible original? I thought the level of tech in the original was beautifully balanced; enough tech to make it quite believable, and enough lo-tech to make it warm and...frankly, even more believable! I say go with the "original" director's cut (sans voice-overs, no "cleaned up" ending) and thank yr lucky stars!

At first I liked the original voice-over and its happy end, now I prefer to think that Deckard is a replicant. If it goes on theaters again, I'll go with my nexus-6 T-shirt from memetictees.com. Sorry but I'm a big fan, I can't wait for the DVD.

I don't mind if Mr. Scott wants to reshoot some scenes to make them better kinda George Lucas style but if you don't include the original version with Harrison Ford's narration then he's just wasting his time. These Director Cut versions that sit on shelves should have always included the Original Theatrical version as at least a Bonus Feature. Instead Mr. Scott has kept the original from us all these years. Why? You really have to be careful with a classic.
