Well, Hello Mr. Fancy Pants! Evil Dead 4?

For a while everyone has been buzzing about Sam Raimi possibly coming back for another Spider-Man sequel. For every story that says he won't there's another that says he will, and as Kirsten says, it wouldn't be good without each and every one of them returning. Considering that even the positive response picks out the film's flaws, it's probably a good idea that Sam is talking about other cinematic interests -- the Shop smart, shop S-Mart variety. And, even better yet, that the interest isn't re-making the first The Evil Dead yet again. Evil Dead 2 was fun, and the musical is all sorts of awesome, but I think it's been stretched to its limits. But how could he bring Ash back and make his fans near and far bounce with anticipation? Evil. Dead. Four. (With no mention of the previously talked about remake.) Moviehole found some news from The Herald Sun, which Raimi talked to recently. From the man himself: "I'm trying to get my brother, Ivan, to write the screenplay with me. He wrote Army of Darkness, the third one, with me and we have been talking about another one, but we haven't started working on it." Granted, this is just in the almost-fetal stage, but it says something that it's coming from Sam himself. I'm ready for any new adventures that Ash, from Housewares, might face. And, it's time we had some new, classic Bruce Campbell lines. Hail to the king, baby!

Bruce Campbell has made mention in the past that he doesn't really seem keen on doing another ED/AOD movie.
Can someone put the buzz in Raimi's ear that Mark-Paul Gosselaar might make for a good replacement?

Zach as Ash? You have got to be frickin kidding me.
He may have broken free of his Saved by the Bell persona and done some ok work in the last few years but in no way could he ever be Ash.
I think the fact that Bruce was willing to make (and even help out and make it better) 'My Name is Bruce' is more than enough proof that with the right direction of the project he would be more than happy to be Ash again.

I'm with you Monika- the musical WAS all kinds of awesome! That's what they should film instead of a fourth installment. Ryan Ward as Ash was fantastic and Jenna Cookers' crazed performance as sister Shelly/Deadite Shelly needs to be enshrined on celluloid!

without bruce, there is no ash... remember the last one was billed as "bruce campbell vs. the army of darkness"
bruce is THE b-movie king with a cult following... there's no way he could be replaced so please don't bother suggesting it

I'd love to see it if Bruce did it, although he is older these days. If not-I might check it out anyway. But without Bruce it really won't be the same.

If Bruce Campbell doesn't do ED4, the ONLY good replacement is Nicholas Brendon from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". He would be the only other person worthy of portraying Ash. Period.
