Geoffrey Rush, Bill Nighy and Chow Yun-Fat: Ask 'Pirates 3' Stars a Question
Filed under: Interviews, Remakes and Sequels, Unscripted, Summer Movies
Wow, with over 180 questions submitted, it's safe to say that our 'Spider-Man 3' Unscripted interview with Tobey Maguire and Topher Grace was an amazing success. Thanks to all who posted questions, including Chris from Phoenix, AZ, who asked Topher to compare his Venom to the one in the comic book, and Peter from Seattle, WA, who asked Tobey and Topher which one of them would win in a fight.
And now we have a very special treat in store -- a rogues gallery if you will -- as we've just booked Captain Barbossa, Davy Jones and the newest pirate on the block, Sao Feng. You heard us right, Geoffrey Rush, Bill Nighy and Chow Yun-Fat from 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' will all be joining us for Moviefone's next Unscripted interview shoot. It's sure to be a rowdy affair, so stand up on your peg legs, strap on your eye patches, and give these pirates questions that will make them say more than just "Rrrrrrr!"
To the uninitiated among you, Unscripted is Moviefone's star-on-star video Q&A show in which celebrities interview each other with your questions and some of their own. So stop stalking and start asking, and please provide your first name plus the city and state you live in!

Hi Geoff, we know you "sort of" felt like a hero in POTC1.
You must have noticed Barbossa is getting increasingly popular, and to many he is the true Pirate Captain and some (include me..) even call him the "Pirate King" now.
With the more important role in POTC3, have your feelings on being the hero as opposed of the villain changed?
How do you view yourself and what are your thoughts about how the Barbossa fans view him?

Mr. Rush,
Does Barbossa finally get some "action" in the new movie? After all, he's been cursed/dead for quite some time; he deserves it. ;)

Mr. Bill Nighy
Will we see more of what drove Davy Jones to place his heart in the chest, aswell as see if there is more to the musical heart shaped locket he has in his room in the Flying Dutchmen?

Enchanting thespian extraordinaire (yes that means you Mr. Rush)- What changes have you made in regard to character in order to play the 'new' Barbossa; now liberated from the curse and full of life once again? And what were the most amusing moments or funniest experiences on the set?

Mr. Bill Nighy,
I think your portrayal of Davy Jones is amazing and look forward to seeing more of him in the third film. My question is... what made you go with a Scottish accent for Davy? My first thought was of John Paul Jones, who was Scottish by birth, but that is probably just the biased American in me. The accent fits the character perfectly, but I am still curious.

Mr. Rush,
What was it like working with the several Capuchins used to play "Jack the Monkey" in the POTC films? Stories have been told that they were tempermental and easily distracted. Did you grow fond of them, or at least get used to them, over the several years of filming?

And sorry for that one: Are you fed up with apples after shooting PotC?
Thanks!

Mr. Rush,
Part of At World's End was filmed at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah (my home state)in the U.S. Were you there for any of that filming? Also, thanks to the Pirates films, how do you feel about your increasing popularity with the ladies? There are a number of girls my age (17 yrs) who absolutely adore you...like me! By the way, I love your boots.
