The Brat Pack: Where Are They Now?
Filed under: Celebrities and Controversy, Fandom, Hold the 'Fone, Summer Movies
In our hearts, Molly Ringwald is still clad all in pink, Judd Nelson's still telling that joke about the naked blonde with the poodle under her arm, and Anthony Michael Hall's still a scrawny loser who dances like a spastic chicken. (Well, for all we know, he still does dance like a spastic chicken.)
But no matter how many times Sixteen Candles airs on cable or how many scenes from The Breakfast Club you know by heart -- and in my case that'd be, umm, almost all of them -- the sad fact remains that the '80s ended, and the members of the Brat Pack grew up. Of course, you all know what happened to some of them: Demi Moore, aka Jules in St. Elmo's Fire, is starring in Mr. Brooks as a tough-as-nails detective; in other news, she got married to that young guy, what's-his-name. But what about the rest?
We tracked down all the members of the original Brat Pack -- the casts of the 1985 films The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire (Molly, Judd, Andrew, Anthony, Ally, Emilio, Rob and Mare), plus a few assorted friends -- to find out where the Brat Pack is now. Somewhat to our surprise, not only did they survive the '80s, but they're all still working steadily. Lindsay Lohan, take note!
What do you think about those Brat Pack movies of the 1980s, and who's your favorite Brat? And just for fun, here's a classic movie quote for each of the actors we've included -- do you know the movie?
Molly Ringwald: "I just want them to know that they didn't break me."
Judd Nelson: "Eat. My. Shorts."
Anthony Michael Hall: "Chicks can't hold a smoke. Dat's what it is."
Emilio Estevez: "I wear the regulation uniform."
Ally Sheedy: "It's not the fat chick."
Andrew McCarthy: "You said you couldn't be with someone who didn't believe in you. Well, I believed in you. I just didn't believe in me. I love you. Always."
Rob Lowe: "You know what it is? It's St. Elmo's fire."
Demi Moore: "Oh well, let's just give the boy a medal! I didn't realize it was such a sacrifice."
Jon Cryer: "His name is Blane? That's a major appliance, that's not a name!"
I couldn't actually find good ones for Robert Downey Jr. and James Spader, so help me out, guys.

I love reading about nostalgia, but can't stand it when the information is WRONG...........in regards to Robert Downey Jr., he did not tortured or harassed the boys, he wasn't even in the movie "WEird Science", that character was played by Michael Paxton("Twister")
Get your info straight people.

How could they forget to mention Emilo Estavez in "Billy The Kid"?! That was a classic in itself!!! And as far as for Robert Downey Jr. - they always were so hard on him about his drug problem. Hey....you can't tell me that none of them ever did drugs!!!

Growing up in the 80's was fabulous. Since Robert Downey,Jr has gotten his life straightened out and has had it straight for a few years now, the media really needs to bury the infamous "drug problem" he had.Rob is one of my favorite actors, and yes, I believe he did play in weird science. When I saw the movie for the first time,I had the hots for him and still do!Do a google search Liz, he did play in it.Bill Paxton played the older brother, and Rob played Ian.

What do you think the former Brat Packers would do, and what would you do, if you learned you have only a few weeks left to live?

The saying "the proof is in the pudding" really applies to Demi Moore and her so called beauty. How are the woman in Hollywood deemed "beautiful" when we all know thier looks were aquired by going under the knife? Her true "looks" are evident in her children, for instance her daughter Rumer (what a ridiculous name). Did you ever see such a HUGE chin and jaw area, that are of her face is as big as the top part of her head! I believe that her jaw is twice the size of Jay Leno! Now take Jessica Alba, Halle Berry, of Nicole Kidman, those woman are beautiful naturally, without the help of plastic surgery. I bet theu would have georgous kids (i'll be the first in line to try!!!).

What about River Phoenix. Dead. That's what's going to happen to Paris, Nicole, Britney, and of course let's not forget Lindsay. They'll either overdose or kill themselves and a few innocent people while driving under the influence. My guess Lindsay will be first.

There were other notables we shouldn't forget...how about Christian Slater or Patrick Duffy? Both of those guys are still around and quite visible. The 80's movies gave us alot to enjoy. What was "your" favorite 80s/brat pack movie? The Outsiders? Legend of Billie Jean? Heathers? Personally I have too many to just pick one.

Christian Slater? What are you talking about? what is this article talking about? If they're going to name every young actor from the 80's to the Brat Pack they forgot John Cusack and Matthew Broderick. they at least stared in Hughes movie's. The Brat Pack was only seven or eight actors that stared in the teen H.S. movies directed by John Hugh's. There aren't 26+ Brat Packers. Moore, Lowe and McCarthy get passes because St.Elmo's Fire was considered the movie when the Brat Packers grew up, even though it was not written or directed by Hughes.

I wonder why none of those brat pack members were black. It seems that it was in the decade of the 90s that black generation Xers finally got their chance to shine. After all, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Queen Lahtifa, Cuba Gooding Jr., etc. didn't get popular until the 90s. So, I wish that members of our generation that are black or got their start in the 90s, would get talked about more in news articles like this.

Holy crap, Judd Nelson! Shave that beard and get that hair back to earth. I didn't even recognize Judd in that picture. I flipped through everyone's pictures, just to see who that was. Why would he want to go from looking like the handsome "IT" kid to a scruffy stranger with a "struck-by-scientist's-electrical-experiment" hairdo!?!
