Who Wants a Part in 'Indiana Jones 4?'
Filed under: Action, Fandom, DIY/Filmmaking, Remakes and Sequels
As most of you are already aware, The Untitled Fourth Installment in the Indiana Jones Series will be heading to New Haven, Connecticut to shoot some sort of wild chase sequence through the streets and across the Yale campus. Seeing as said scenes will call for tons of extras to "oohh" and "ahhh" while Harrison Ford's stunt double rides a motorcycle that's supposedly being chased by a group of black vans (or trucks), here is your chance to be a part of movie history. SpielbergFilms tells us there will be an open casting call at the Omni Hotel at Yale on Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12 from 1 p.m - 9 p.m. each day.
Each person will be required to bring a brown hat, a whip and a short Asian boy. Kidding. Or am I??? Actually, each person is required to bring a headshot with them (which sucks for those ordinary folks like myself who would love to just show up and be like, "I'm here, cast me!"), and your headshot will not be returned to you. Filming will be taking place between the dates of June 28 and July 7; no word on whether you'd have to be available for the entire time, but I assume you will be. Keep in mind the film is set (I think) in 1957, so they'll probably be looking for people who carry a '50s vibe. Oh, and you have to be over 18. If you do decide to try out, definitely let us know what the scene was like -- were there thousands of people there? What sort of questions did they ask? Anyone show up thinking it was an American Idol audition? As soon as filming is underway, Cinematical will be all over this bad boy ... so stay tuned. Indiana Jones and the Search for the Perfect Headshot will arrive in theaters on May 22, 2008.

I went to the casting call...found this page through a google search. There were tons of people there...I went on the second day and it was packed...a line going down the entire block. Apparently they're looking for 900 extras, though. Waited in line for about 3 hours outside the hotel, then inside, we were given a sheet to fill out... age height weight measurements, all that. For guys, they wanted to know if they could cut their hair short in a 50's-style look. For girls they wanted to know if you had any cheerleading experience and if you had a dog and what kind. Then we waited some more. They didn't really need professional headshots...most people just took pictures of themselves and printed them out, and that was fine. Then they hearded us into another room (after 2 hours of waiting) and they took another pic if the one you submitted didn't look like yourself, and quickly looked over the form, wrote a letter on it, and said they'd contact you in a week or so....
