Welcome Back Indiana Jones!

Well, they did exactly what we imagined they would do -- IndianaJones.com is hosting the first official pic of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones for the first time (on the big screen) since 1989, and the photo was snapped by none other than director Steven Spielberg. Not some secret studio spy or a scooper laying low in a garbage can across the street; nope, this one comes straight from the top. He's still wearing the same old bloodied-up duds, sports the oh-so-familiar fedora hat and pimps a five o'clock shadow like it's nobody's business. And dare I say it -- but the guy looks pretty damn good for his old age. From the looks of it, they're already filming some fairly action-packed scenes -- I can't imagine that blood on his knee and face was there when he woke up this morning. And as Ford stares out into the distance, I wonder if he's at all thinking about how long it's been since he last played this character -- a whopping 18 14 years. God bless the man. Starring Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Jim Broadbent, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and mayyybe Karen Allen, Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods (working title) arrives in theaters on May 22, 2008.

This is NOT the first time Harrison Ford has played Indy since 1989 - he played Indy in one episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in 1993.

Nice first adjustment, but at the end, its been FOURTEEN years since he last played the character, not 18 :)

Yeah, nothing like a senior citizen action hero. lol The movie should not be made.
It's been about 19 year since he played Indy - 1989 was the release of Last Crusade, thus it was made in 88. 2007 - 1988 = 19 years.
Now if you're counting some silly ass TV show that nobody watched you could claim 14 years. But really, TV counts for nothing. It's been 19 years since he played the character for a movie and it's embarrassing that they're doing this.

He's staring out in to space for one of two reasons:
1. He forgot where he was
or
2. Like myself, he was wondering where his walker is.

Well...let's look at recent history/trends:
"Rocky Balboa" (after a long absence): positive reviews
"Live Free or Die Hard" (after a long absence)positive reviews.
So maybe a long (and somewhat nostalgic) absence isn't such a bad thing after all.
