Comic-Con: Wrapping-Up With Tons Of Photos
Filed under: Action, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Comic/Superhero/Geek, ComicCon

So, it's been just over a week since Comic-Con wrapped up, and I've had time to catch up on sleep, dig all of my geek gear out of my bag, delouse my Captain Marvel costume, and process all of the pop culture I was exposed to without a radiation shield. For awhile it left me weaker than Green Lantern's ability to affect the color yellow, if you know what I mean.
You can read my bullet-pointed, bite-size-chunked roundup of the news that hit closest to home for me after the break, and also check out our massive gallery of shots from the show floor and the panels below. Comic-Con always seems like such a massive buildup each year, but when it's over you scratch your head a bit and say, "Was that all there was?" Then you start looking forward to next year.
- Karen Allen confirmed as Marion Ravenwood in Indiana Jones IV and apparently as Indy Jones Jr.'s mother. Harrison Ford calls them "a family" while Steven Spielberg smiles on. It's all exciting and strangely eerie at the same time.
- Indiana Jones IV still doesn't have a title.
- Neither does JJ Abrams' Cloverfield project. We know that it's not a Godzilla movie, and it's not called Monstrous ... but give us a title already.
- Speaking of JJ Abrams, he apparently likes Infocom games. If you don't know what Infocom is, then you've just made me feel both old and geeky, and the same time. Nice job.
- Neil Gaiman's Beowulf and Stardust both look a lot better than I'd expected. My money is on Stardust to be a moderate late summer sleeper.
- I'm more excited about Iron Man than I ever was about Made. Zing! No, seriously ... Iron Man looks like it has an ironclad lock on the box office. This movie looks awesome.
- Zachary Quinto (I wonder how many people call this guy Sylar in person) and Leonard Nimoy will both be playing Spock. My desire to see this film rose a notch. However, if they cast Shia LeBouf as Kirk, I'm out.
- Drillbit Taylor looks like another Apatow-produced comedy hit. Seriously, stop making movies for a minute and let me catch up. I'll let you know when I'm done with Superbad.
- When I first heard about the remake of Get Smart, I wasn't thrilled. That was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. However, after seeing the footage from the movie, I'm sold. I was probably nuts to doubt Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart ... although at this point he'll have played both him and Uncle Arthur from Bewitched, so he might as well just play Major Nelson in an I Dream Jeannie remake, and Marshall, Will, or Chakka in a Land of the Lost movie. Go ahead, just do it already.
- The Invasion doesn't really do it for me, at least ... not the trailer. I'll sleep just fine, thanks.
- People are kicking themselves for not asking questions during the One Missed Call panel when Ed Burns and Shannon Sassaman were onstage. Who knew they'd be giving out free iPhones? Heck, I'd ask Uwe Boll a question for an iPhone.
- Kate Beckinsale is a naughty, naughty girl.
- Zack Snyder is keeping the Watchmen pirate story. Comic book geeks explode.
- My wallet will be hurting once that massive Blade Runner: The Final Cut DVD set comes out. Have you seen this thing? It comes in a metal briefcase, for the love of Tyrell.
- At first, I was pretty excited about the new The Incredible Hulk movie, but now I realize everything they're hyping about it, a sensitive actor, more of a character piece, was the same things they were hyping about Ang Lee's version. For the record, I thought that movie was pretty decent. Only not enough HULK SMASH! That's what people want to see.
- Other than the skywriting thing, The Dark Knight had zero presence at Comic-Con. Seems like such a waste to ignore your prime audience like that.
- You can also listen to the entire audio presentation of the Paramount panel right here, brought to you by your good friends at Cinematical, and a lot of AA batteries.

Again, you guys did a fantastic job at the Con. Lots of sites do lots of solid coverage, and I think ours was among the best.

Thanks for all the pictures! Some of them could have used captions (WTF is up with the sheep?) but I love it anyway. And by the way, you're not fooling anyone with your 15 pictures of Edward Norton! I'm hoping to go next year with some friends. Maybe I'll see you guys there!
