Which 'Knocked Up' DVD Will You Be Getting?
Filed under: Comedy, Romance, Universal, Home Entertainment
The multi-hatted movie-maker Judd Apatow has been on a really solid roll of late. After helping to create two brilliant TV shows (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared) that nobody watched until after they were canceled, Mr. Apatow and his crew have been churning out R-rated comedies that are as hilarious as they are profitable. (If you're not a fan of The 40-Year-Old Virgin, I just don't think we can be friends.) And with Superbad arriving this weekend, it seems a perfect time to announce the DVD specs for Apatow's other big-time summer hit. So if you dug Knocked Up even half as much as I did, you'll want to dig through this info before searching out the DVD:Basic extras -- available on both the R-rated and Unrated Editions:
Deleted and Extended Scenes
Gag Reel
"Directing the Director" -- Capote director Bennett Miller stops by to help Apatow get the job done.
Line-O-Rama -- Tons of alternate takes.
Audio commentary with Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and Bill Hader
Roller Coaster Featurette
Unrated Goodies -- Available only on the Unrated release:
MORE Deleted and Extended Scenes -- Probably pretty raunchy ones, too
Topless Scene: "Web Design" -- Let's hear it for unnecessary nakedness!
Available only on the 2-disc Unrated version:
Judd Apatow's Video Diaries
Finding Ben Stone -- A mock casting session.
Stripper Confidential -- Rogen and Paul Rudd wade through some Sin City salaciousness.
Even MORE Deleted and Extended Scenes / Gag Reel Footage!
Topless Scene: "Restaurant" -- More skin!
Katherine Hiegl's Audition Tape -- and more!
Needless to say I'll be purchasing the third option on September 25. I really loved this flick.

Knocked up is not only the best comedy of the year, but quite possibly the best ever. If you haven't seen this in the theater with a large crowd, you must do so.

Knocked Up was one of the most dicusting, women and marriage degrading movies I've ever seen, actually almost seen because I walked out of it about half way through. Come on viewers, just because raunchy stuff seems to be popular, doesn't make it tasteful or right!
