Sally Brophy (1928-2007) - Actress who played Veronica Cartwright's character's mother in The Children's Hour. She also appears with Bette Davis in Storm Center. She died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma September 18, in Princeton, New Jersey. (NY Times) - Michael Evans (1926-2007) - Actor who appears in Bye Bye Birdie, Time After Time and The Sword and the Sorcerer. He died September 4. (BBC News)
- István Gaál (1933-2007) - Hungarian filmmaker who tied for the 1970 Cannes Jury Prize with Magasiskola (Falcons). He also wrote and directed Sodrásban and Cserepek and wrote the novel A Ménesgazda (Stud Farm), which András Kovács made into a 1978 film. He died September 25 in Budapest. (Odeon.hu)
- Richard T. Heffron (1930-2007) - Director of Futureworld, Foolin' Around, and the concert doc Fillmore. He also wrote the screenplay for and was an associate producer on The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery, which starred Steve McQueen. He died August 27 in Seattle. (son-in-law)
- Christine Hewett (?-2007) - Model and actress (pictured) best known for appearing in the Mos Eisley cantina sequence in Star Wars as the character "Brea Tonnika" (or technically another character impersonating that character, apparently). She also appears in Die Another Day, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Bridget Jones' s Diary. She most recently doubled for Vanessa Redgrave in the filming of The Riddle. She of died of cancer September 19, in England. (Wookieepedia)
- Minoru Inuzuka (1901-2007) - Japanese filmmaker who wrote seven Zatoichi films, including the original. He was also a director (Ghost Story: Passion in Fukagawa) and worked as a dialogue coach on John Huston's The Barbarian and the Geisha. (unconfirmed)
- Blas Jaramillo (1968-2007) - Colombian actor who appears in Andrés Baiz's Santanás. He died from complications rising from pancreatitis August 30. (Variety)
- Martin Manulis (1915-2007) - Producer of Days of Wine and Roses, Dear Heart and Luv. He was best known as the creator of TV's Playhouse 90, which featured work by John Frankheimer, Arthur Penn and George Roy Hill. He died September 28 in Los Angeles. (Variety)
- Lois Maxwell (1927-2007) - British actress who played "Miss Moneypenny" in 14 James Bond movies, from Dr. No to A View to a Kill, transcending three different 007s (Connery, Lazenby, Moore). She also appears in the Bond knockoffs OK Connery and From Hong Kong with Love. Her non-007 pics include Lolita, The Haunting, The Fourth Angel and That Hagen Girl, for which she won a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer - Female. She died September 29 in Western Australia. - Lee McLaughlin (1936-2007) - Actor and photographer who appears in Silver Streak, The Car, The Cheap Detective and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. He shot stills for The Princess Bride, Alien Abduction and Death Valley: The Revenge of Bloody Bill. He also performed stunts for Young Guns, Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 and Tall Tale. He died September 20 in Northridge, California. (LA Times)
- Hiroshi Osaka (c.1963-2007) - Assistant animation director for Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and key animation supervisor for Escaflowne: The Movie. He died September 24. (Anime News Network)
- Marjatta Raita (1944-2007) - Finnish actress who co-starred in writer Spede Pasenen's Uuno Turhapuro films as Uuno's wife, Elisabeth. She also played the character on television. She died September 27 in Helsinki. (Ilta-Sanomat)
- Jürgen Roland (1925-2007) - German filmmaker who made the 1960s Edgar Wallace adaptations Der Rote Kreis (The Red Circle) and Der Grüne Bogenschütze (The Green Archer). He died September 21 in Hamburg. (Spiegel Online)
- Comway Wickliffe (1966-2007) - Special effects technician who worked on Batman Begins, Casino Royale, V for Vendetta, Children of Men and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its sequel. He died when a vehicle he was driving collided with a tree while he was working on next summer's The Dark Knight. Good for you for mentioning Lois Maxwell's appearance OK Connery--that's no ordinary 007 knockoff, since it starred Neil Connery, Sean's brother, an Edinburgh dentist (as well as Adolpho Celi from Thunderball, and Bernard Lee). Apparently, Sean C. was not amused.
