Brad Pitt: The Good, the Bad, but What are the Ugly?
Filed under: Celebrities and Controversy, Fandom, Lists
Ah, Brad Pitt. While some ladies have loved him since they first laid eyes on him, I was not one of them. Thelma & Louise never made me gaga, and his relationship with Juliette Lewis creeped me out. Then the little bugger started to grow on me. There was A River Runs Through It, True Romance, and then Interview with the Vampire. I begrudgingly gave up my dislike, but it wasn't until Fight Club that I ever thought: "Ohhh, Brad!" It's just something about those pelvic muscles. Anyhow, Moviefone has just put up a list of what they consider to be his best and worst movies, and if you're a fan of all things Pitt, you might want to check it out.Of course, the best includes cult classics like 12 Monkeys, as well as his most recent -- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It's funny how that movie is getting tons of raves, yet had one heck of a time getting released. On the worst side of things, well, I'm there with them for the most part, although I have a particular fondness for Meet Joe Black. Perhaps it stems from my love of Death Takes a Holiday, or from that irresistible car accident scene that has him flopping around like a mannequin. Whatever the case, it's far from great, but still off my worst list. Check out Moviefone for the full list and then let us know -- there's the good, the bad, but what are the ugly? Are there any that made you cringe so much you can't believe his career survived? And did they miss the boat with any of the good or bad?

"The Mexican"? The WORST? Personally I love that movie. Sure, it's not the best ever but isn't that the point? An enjoyable no-brainer. Bit of romance, enjoyable comedy and a little adventure?
Anybody that thinks this movie is worse than "Cool World" really shouldn't be compiling movie-related lists. Sure, opinion is exactly that, but c'mon...

I have to agree, box office smash or not, The Mexican was definitely a great movie. I think it was a little ahead of its time with the movie format, or else it wasn't able to get the attention of more mature, subtle-humor movie watchers.

Most definately "Legends of the Fall" was his best movie ever. I only saw it for the first time a couple of years ago and could not believe how I had overlooked this man. "Meet Joe Black" really did me in, as I have probably seen this movie 100 times and loved it more each time. He is a fantastic actor and beautiful human being, althoug I have never forgiven him for leaving Jennifer Aniston.

Once again, the "people" who protect us from ourselves by giving us their unsolicited opinions about movies and actors have demonstrated that the viewing public can never go broke trying to overestimate the stupidity of movie critics. Saying that "Meet Joe Black" is one of Brad Pitt's very worst movies is like saying the "Mona Lisa" is just one artists doodeling. Meet Joe Black, while a little on the long side, was, without question, one of Brad's very BEST roles. Period.

I thought "Meet Joe Black" was excellent. I wasn't crazy about his "Interview With A Vampire" role or maybe it was the script.

Ditto Don! Great blog. I don't know what they were thinking or not thinking when they left out Legends of the Fall. Stupid as their comments about my favorite movies. I love 7 years in Tibet also. I haven't seen a bad Brad Pitt movie. Some are not as good as others but whose are? He's a marvelous actor.

I so disagreed with your selection of Pitt's role in "Meet Joe Black" as one of his worst that I looked for some place to make a comment (which I rarely do!). I see several others agree with me. Pitt's portrayal in that film is outstanding and I love, love the movie. I think you missed it on that one!

I loved the movie "Interview with a Vampire" . Great movie. It wasn't the script because I read the book and it was right on. I have to disagree with Nsm. It was a great movie.

First time I have ever posted a comment on anything but, The Mexican.....Come on? I love that movie and thought he was great. And, Meet Joe Black, I would not consider one of his worst. I think he played the character the way it was written to be portrayed.
And I agree with Tia...........if death looks like Brad, bring it on.

While it was a horrible movie, Brad Pitt played an excellent Louie in Interview with the Vampire. He had that character pinned.

I can't believe anyone would call Meet Joe Black as one of Brad Pitt's worse movies. I enjoy watching it over and over. I think he's brilliant in his portrayal of death. Put Kalifornia as one of the worst instead.
