Gary Fleder Visits 'Darkling Cove'

Imagine you're just a normal woman living a normal life. Then, you experience a really traumatic event. You need time to regroup and heal, so you move to a small town on the beach. What could be better than the relaxing pulse of waves, and a cozy environment perfect for recovery? Unfortunately, while you're living in your ocean-front paradise, you end up unearthing a crime and finding yourself in the middle of a new drama. This is the premise for 20th Century Fox's upcoming thriller. It's called Darkling Cove, and it comes from a spec script by Caroline Case -- whose lone other feature writing credit is Impostor, a Philip K. Dick adaptation.Variety reports that Gary Fleder has been picked to direct, and he'll also produce the film along with John Davis, who got the project started with his discretionary fund under Davis Entertainment. This re-teams Case and Fleder, as he directed Impostor, and Variety says she wrote a draft of Don't Say a Word. He's also the helmer behind films like Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, Kiss the Girls, and Runaway Jury. So basically, he's had a pretty decent track record. Now they just need to start casting the film. He could revisit the past and re-team with Ashley Judd, but that'd be too predictable. Who else can pull of the balance of drama, personal issues, and new thrills?

I tried to comment on your blog about Zac Effron starring in the new Footloose movie but i don't know if it was the web site or my computer, but it wouldn't let me. so here is my view on your other blog.
WHAT is wrong with being a "Disney-fied young actor obsessed with musical movies" ????
i BEG to differ with your point of view. you obviously have never been in a musical, and if you have been and actually enjoyed it, then i must sadly realize you have been brainwashed. if you have ever had the experience of singing a song and dancing a dance from a musical you would know the rush you get and the longing you get when you watch an old movie, wishing you could do that part. i am, for one, thrilled that they are remaking it. it gives our generation of great singers/dancers/actors a chance to do something they've seen their whole lives. and if you are truely a footloose fan, you should know, that it is a musical, just in a different form. did you know, all this great 80's hits that are heard in the movie, were written for THAT movie?? they became hits AFTER the movie came out. they were written specifically for the characters in the movie. the only difference is that they didn't sing it. who knows why, maybe they couldn't sing, maybe the director thought it was too much...but all in all, it is another form of musical. have some respect.
and what is wrong with being "Disneyfied"??? Disney is by far one of the most respectable movie making company to ever cross this earth. and if you want to take up that particular argument with me, please do so.
so, i am very excited to see fresh faces and songs and dance displayed through a classic movie. thank you.
