Woody Harrelson and Katie Holmes Together At Last!

We may only be hours away from a writer's strike, but that's not stopping the deals from rolling in. The Hollywood Reporter tells us Woody Harrelson will join Katie Holmes (who's still in talks), Giovanni Ribisi and Jason Lee in an odd comedic fantasy adventure from writer-director David Michaels called The Other Side. The film will follow "a female grad student who, while spending a summer on remote Destiny Island for her scholarship to study fish, discovers a strange world of unusual characters hiding a dark secret." Let me guess -- none of them are Tom Cruise fans. Is that their dark secret? If Holmes signs on, she'll play the girl studying fish, while Harrelson will play both the father and son who fund her scholarship (that won't look odd), Ribisi will play her romantic love interest (if he can keep his eyes open) and Lee will take on a number of roles. Heck, where's Eddie Murphy when you need him?
This would mark Holmes' second role since taking a few years off to have a kid and convince the world that her marriage is semi-normal. And I'd like to see her in stuff like this. One of my favorite roles from Holmes was in the film Go, where she played a random girl all hopped up on love and Santa. She was also very good as the ultra-hipster with not a dollar to her name in Pieces of April. In my opinion, she's at her best when she plays quirky -- that girl who's a little off, but you'd still date her a few times for the hell of it. Oh, and let's hand it to Jason Lee as well for finally escaping big-screen animation for a number of different live-action roles ... in the same movie. I like this cast, and I hope the movie is just as good.

I heart what you said. Im glad Katie is not retiring from Hollywoodland. She is one beautiful and promising actress. I saw the trailer for Mad Money and she is soooo adorkable.

I knew she wouldn't quit cus much like Julia Roberts she is allowed to take a break and can't believe how much of a big deal people made out of it and I still laugh at them. Anyways I hope the movies will keep on coming for katie and yes one of my favorite roles of her's was in "pieces of april".

I have not seen Go but Katie rocks in Singing Detective with Robert Downey Jr., didnt even mind her as Pepper Potts for Iron Man because both have serious sparks going on as much as I very much prefer her over Maggie Gyllenhaal. Recast is a big distraction for me.I hope Mags gets jokerized.
I have to mention the Gift as well and what a gift Katie is with her sexy hot bod. She better stay away from Wonder Woman. You're right she shines as as a goofball but like to see her in some more dramatic roles even some action and musical. According to Vanity Fair and People the Hairspray producers are creating a musical for her and that Katie will blew away audiences with a new fresh side of her showing that she's one great singer and dancer. This film is alright but I might end up liking it too.

Katie's personal life and career intrigues the media and the public even those that dislike her and Tom. Some I think read too much of the trashy tabloids but I certainly hope Katie will get busy on the bigscreen. On the Batman situation....sucks we end up with Maggie Gyllenhaal. She's nothing but the porn queen of Indie films and gets roles by her daddy director. She is ugly and the biggest turn off is her attitude and arrogance. She bashes America...bashes Katie and other actresses and why do the Batman sequel when she bashes blockbuster movies.
LOL Jason when many new moms took hiatus from movies like Kate Hudson,Liv Tyler,now Garner is back making movies again and McAdams is not pregnant but she took time off from Hollywood.Its a big deal when its Katie and Tom and I guarantee if Katie was still in TDK she would steal the thunder again with the people and paparazzis all over the Batman set. Such chaos with Katie,her baby,Tom and Brad Pitt's family.
