EXCLUSIVE: 'The Eye' Poster Premiere!

Okay, tell me this poster doesn't creep you out just a little bit. Imagine getting something stuck in your eye, and then realizing -- oh crap, it's a hand! Cinematical has just received the exclusive poster for The Eye (click on the image for a larger version), starring Jessica Alba. Yes, we're a bit Alba crazy as of late (having premiered the poster for Awake yesterday), but since the gal has decided it was time to get her freak on, we're there to support her. Based on the 2002 Hong Kong flick Gin gwai, The Eye tells of a blind violinist who, after receiving a double cornea transplant, begins to see dead people. Oops. This should be an interesting role for Alba, who's never really carried her own horror/thriller before. Move over Sarah Michelle Gellar -- it's Alba time! Directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, the duo behind the acclaimed 2006 French terror flick Them, The Eye is set to sneak its way into theaters on February 1, 2008. You can also catch the trailer over on Moviefone right now.

Oh that's right, isn't this a Japanese remake! Man those freak me out. And this poster says it all! It's a totally fresh new take on these Japanese remake movies, it's more real, and I can't explain it, but it creeps me out from the inside, instead of being creep'd by something outside.

Okay, I'll admit it, this freaked me out at first. Anything that has to do with eyes is creepy (remember Un chien andalou) but I love how retro this poster is.

I was blown away by this image. It has got such an old feel, almost like it's alive and this old soul is showing. It reminds me of Man Ray's Les Larmes, or insanely abstract works of Dali. One of the few posters out there that seem to have a life.

WOW. In the age of horrible posters, this is one of the few that absolutely stand out. With all these posters that try and SQUEEZE in all the stars of the movies (like who cares!) this movie, with Alba, a hot sexy star, this movie obviously aims to creep out, other than sell another sexy face. It's scary, fresh, and has a great sense of sell quality.

What are you guys thinking, saying this looks good??
It looks stupid actually. And why made a remake when the original is just fine?

Speaking of Sarah Michelle Gellar... this poster reminds me A LOT of the poster for "The Return" from last year. It's cool, but it's sort of been done before.
