James Marsters and Justin Chatwin Join 'Dragon Ball Z'

Actually Justin kind of already looks like an anime character I'm not sure I can see him as Goku. Unless he puts on a lot of muscle. Piccolo is a green alien so if they go that route I don't know how much it matters who's underneath the makeup.

It depends on what time in the story the director choses to place these characters too. If I'm not mistaken Goku was still a child whe he first fought Piccolo, so I wouldn't expect a very faithful portrayal of the original characters in that sense

I guess since goku is fighting piccolo, he will only be using the techiques he learned from Master Roshi. I say get Danny Devito to play Krillin!

Well, I can sort of see Justin as Goku, but I think that Marsters isn't the best choice for Piccolo. I still firmly believe that Christopher Judge would be the best fit for Piccolo. They shouldn't have started the movies with this storyline, they should have started it with the Saiyan invasion, but maybe they're saving that for the sequel if (when) this is successful.

They could have found someone better than Justin Chatwin for Goku, he is supposed to be all power and muscle as well as heart. As for Piccolo he was never really evil, in the beginning he was sort of evil so I am curious to see what they do with this character. I hope they give more thought to the rest of the cast.

King Picolo was pure evil. Son Picolo aka the Picolo from Sayan to start of Namek saga had evil tendencies but was not pure evil. Goku was grown by the time the says came and picolo was still not his friend, remember when picolo killed both goku and raditz, he said that he had been saving the technique to kill goku (speical beam cannon). Although I almost threw up when I read the goku selection, the Picolo one isnt that bad. He is a better actor than we give him credit for, I think he can pull it off if he wants to.

I can't believe a white person is playing Goku! People may argue he's an alien but I say so is Superman yet Superman is never played by a non caucasian person. As an Asian American and a big Dragonball fan this movie deeply offends me!

You shouldn't take offense to it brother, Akira Toriyama, clearly made the Saiya-jins predominantly white characters. Most characters in animes usually are!! Gundam Wing, the humans in Transformers, Pokemon, etc. etc.
And Superman would never be played by anyone other than a white guy, it would just cause way too many problems!! People don't like to see changes in what they're used to. Imagine Peter Parker being a black guy!! I have friends that were pissed off when they used Michael Clarke Duncan as "The Kingpin" in Daredevil, I loved it and I thought he was the PERFECT choice, he had the size, the voice and the look!! What about Alicia Masters (The Thing's girlfriend) in The Fantastic Four movie?! Again, we have a white character portrayed by a black woman but nobody seemed to notice or care!! You see, some characters can get away with it, while the big and popular characters cannot!! So don't take offense to it bro, it's not a personal or racial issue!!

I think krillin is Cgi in this movie since there not casting for him also I read the Character summary and this movie is gonna be weird. Goku is supposed to be 18 loner in high school no friends that loses his grandfather at 18. Master Roshi sacrafices himself to kill Lord Picollo. WTF. This movie might turn into a disaster.
