Cinematical

He's a good fit, and in the right price range. He's certainly attractive in a "hottest guy in school" kind of way. But he has another thing essential to the character, a... how should I put this... "quasi-sleazy mysterioso" vibe about him? He looks like he'd make a good anti-hero.

If this movie does well, it might catapult his butt into the ring of "memorable young stars". Same for Kristen Stewart. I can't wait!

and I know that Summit/the directors will do an awesome job on bringing the story and characters to life.
stephenie meyer is right with everything she says about Robert.
he has read all of the twilight series so far.
and he can talk american-and he sounds really great with it-

(with camera affects they indeed do have to make him look more edward-ish..especially with the shining in the sun thing..)

I never actually pictured Robert as Edward...so it's hard for me to say he is perfect for the role. However, I can sort of see it. I actually thought of Charlie Hunnam initially being Edward (especially that black and white side picture of him). But I think Charlie Hunnam would be really good as Carlisle. But anyway, these are the actors that I think would be perfect for the cast...Hayden Christiansen (Edward), Emily Browning (Bella...I'm EXTREMELY upset that Kristen got the part instead), Charlie Hunnam (Carlisle), Rachel Leigh Cook (Alice), Kristin Chenoweth (Esme), Steven Straite (Jacob), Cillian Murphy (James), Julianne Moore (Victoria), Olivia Wilde (Rosalie)...that's all I have so far.

to be honost I think Hollywoosd will ahve to do a lot of work to make him look like edward. I have seen some pics of him where I can maybe see it. he has no muscles though. And some of those eyebrows need to go. Its not my idea of perfect Edward but oh well.

well let start of with somebody playing edward.. he HAS TO BE SEXY and lean but muscular. and i think that Pattinson might be really for the part... i mean yea he cute but come on!!!! no one can play or look like edward but the closest that look like edward is christain hayden now he is sooo edward he sexy and strong but hey we cant have it our way.... and also i really dont think kristen can play bella she look old and really tall and skiny

I think that both Kristen and Robert will do absolutly AMAZING in the Twilight movie! I literaly can NOT wait for the movie to come out! I think that Robert is little too lean though... and he might need to remove just a little of thoughs bushy eyebrows... but other than that he has amazingly matched up with EVERYTHING I had imagined he was! He is gunna do GREAT!!! He's an AWESOME actor! Kristen will do great too.. I know it! She did GREAT in the part for Zathura! Good luck to the both of them! ;-)

robert is going to be amazing as edward...he has great bone structure...great teeth (very important) and he is a very talented actor. he is how i imagined edward would look. so give him a chance.........

i don't honsetly know what i think of him as edward anymore! when i first saw him, i thought he was totally wrong in the looks department, he wasn't very hott in most pictures i saw him in! but i started seeing pictures of this gorgeous guy, not noticing who it was, and when i realized it was robert pattinson, i was like DAMMNNNNNNN!!! i am anxious for the movie! i can barely sit 4 two hours waiting 4 breaking dawn to come out, this had better be good!!!!

I think he will do alright in the part but no matter who they pick to play Edward Cullens role I dont think I will ever be pleased. The character I picked in my mind while reading the novel is on a pedestal of his own. But I still cannot wait for this movie to come out and for Break Dawn!! Gah so much time to wait!!! But I also cannot wait for Meyer's sister book to Twilight (Midnight Sun-in Edwards point of view) to come out which will take much longer than anything else. *sigh* But Kristine deffinatly will make the perfect Bella no doubt ^_^
