Now this is a poster. This is probably one of the greatest posters we've seen all year (click on the image above for a larger version). Why was this the international poster? Doesn't really matter, though, because regardless of whether it's domestic or international, the poster still exists and it still kicks a whole lotta ass. Yup, that's Batman looking over the city he's supposed to protect. You can look at this image from a few different angles; the way I see it, the evil in Gotham City is growing so large, it's almost consuming the one man there to protect it. Like The windows look like a prison cell, as if the caped crusader is being held hostage inside his own home. Man, I love it. And, additionally, after the jump we have another poster featuring the Joker. Both marketing materials are marvelous to look out, with this one up top being my favorite. The new trailer for The Dark Knight has also leaked online, but it's of the crappy shot-in-the-theater variety. And you don't want to watch it. Trust me. Feel free to search around for it, but if you ask me, hang out for the HD version which is sure to arrive online within the next day or so. You'll be happy you waited. The Dark Knight arrives in theaters on July 18.
Additional poster after the jump ...

These both look so great! They both could have been ripped from the comic book. I agree that top one is the best I've seen in quite a while.

Even the bootlegged trailer kicks ass. After seeing it, all I could think was: Jack who? The definitive version of the Joker has a new name.

Both of those posters are good but the first one is amazing. I wonder if there is a way to buy it. That would look great in a theater room.

That first one does look great. It look so ominous and the exact oppisite of what you would expect. Most of the time you expect to see Batman on top of a skyscraper leaping through the air. Here he looks confined. Leaving The Joker to do what? Wander the streets of Gotham like it was his playground. These posters look great side by side together.

My thought is that he's looking from his apartment in Wayne Tower since Wayne Manor is probably still in shambles. And Wayne Tower is the tallest building in Gotham. From what I saw of the trailer on Youtube and other pics online, his base of operations is Wayne Tower until Wayne Manor is rebuilt.

The posters are okay. But, I think many of you are partially wrong about what they mean. I am thinking in terms of perspective. Batman is above the city looking down at it. Indeed, that's the camera angle- omiscient God like in its view. Yes, the problems he face are huge because the city is large, but he's above it all. The Joker is the one in the street with the people. Notice, he's bigger in frame and above it all in his own way down in the streets. But we are also looking up at him with the camera angle. Not sure if this is right- just realizing camera angles and perspective and what psychological impact its intended to have at least traditional filmmaking wise. It's like this god like figure searching for this guy down in the street and they are facing each other.

Jack's Joker came across as gleefully crazy... BUT HEATH? He's one-upped it here. Now the Joker is a murderous psychopath, and *scary* as he should be. The original is still classic, but THIS is the way you redefine a character. You bring it to a whole other level. I am impressed, to say the least. VERY IMPRESSED. O__O !!!

You sure the top one isn't supposed to be Hong Kong city ? It looks too modern and massive to be Gotham maybe ?
