I saw the trailer on a crappy bootleg, and that was okay. But I don't want to watch the prolouge on an equally crappy bootleg. Now that the milk has been spilt, why doesn't Nolan or whoever makes the decision to release things offically just put it up on the web? So we can see a great quality version of it. Yes "I Am Legend" was number 1 this weekend. Can they now just put the prolouge up on "WhySoSerious.com" for the the ones who didn't want to pay our 10 bucks for IAL?

I Am Legend should donate 15% or more to TDK's overall take next July. I truly believe that many people saw it for the trailer. Not that IAL was a terrible movie. Only the ending, which was an obvious re-write.

Hate on TDK all you like, but the movie stands as the behemoth of all movies next summer. Let's hope it isn't a victim of its own hype, as Spiderman 3 was.

It does not matter because TDK and I Am Legend are owned by WB. Plus they really need a hit from all their flops like Poseion,Lady in the Water,Lucky you,Flags of our Fathers and their New Line Cinema unit has many flops too.
Im so excited for this sequel but I was underwhelmed by the trailer. Too much hype on this one but the fact is many great films are out on 2008. I have to say the good trailer that gave me goosebumps and their score was so good was Prince Caspian and Valkyrie. I even think Ledger' joker looks like Beetlejuice. My girlfriend told me she has trouble believing Bruce Wayne is in love with Maggie Gyllenhaal. She likes the original actress and so do I.

No offense webb but saying it doesn't matter who gets the credit because they're both owned by the WB is like saying it doesn't matter how many wins Dallas has compared to the Dolphins since they're both owned by the NFL. Two different projects and two different budgets. And if TDK is helping prop up IAL, which admittedly had some cheesy (read: cheap) special effects, then credit should go where it is due.

Just like on TV. Whoever is following Grey's Anatomy can't bitch too much.

But Will Smith has many fans and reading most reviews they were good so I have to agree its not all about the Batman crowd. Where's Harvey Dent?
Its distracting and nonrealistic to see a granny looking Rachel Dawes.

I hated katie holmes in the last film but I have to say that the less maggie we see the better because that leaves more time for the joker. This IS the joker's movie and all the characters take a back seat to him, even batman.

I'm so damn excited for this movie. Heath Ledger's Joker is incredibly creepy, I think even better than Nicholson's - he pulls it off admirably.

I'm excited to see Maggie Gyllenhaal as Dawes - I thought Katie Holmes did all right, but she was cloying at times and to be honest, I think Gyllenhaal will stand up to the acting power of the rest of the cast better, as well as bringing a believable maturity to the role of (Assistant?)DA.

While the quality was poor, I have to say I liked the prologue a lot. Definitely sets a strong tone for the film. As for the trailer, I'll admit it''s a bit of a mish-mash, but I liked what it showed. As for Maggie Gyllenhaal, I agree with faye: not only is she more believable as an assistant DA, she's a WAY better actress than Mrs Cruise could ever hope to be. Furthermore, I find Maggie to be more attractive; Holmes looks too much like a chipmunk.

This made me so, so happy. I saw the trailer before the unbelievably god-bothering I Am Legend, but then I worried the Joker was just going to be delivering ordinary comic-bookisms ("You made me, we're both freaks...let's put a smile on that face.")
However, now I wish I'd paid the $12 plus bridge tolls to see this prologue in IMAX. Really, really, all for it now, total bat fever. The crummy bootleg adds to the experience--it makes the heist look like something from a gritty 1970s crime movie. The Joker's variation on "Whatever doesn't kill you..." is very quotable, even better than my previous favorite version of the Nietzsche: "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you want to die."

I guess Im alone feeling a bit letdown by the trailer and sorry to disagree that this film is about Batman not the Joker. This is the Dark Knight not the Joker begins. The only thing I like is that it promises more action because Begins showed Nolan's inexperience as an action director.I like Katie the actress better and I wont have trouble believing Batman falls for her and Dent. Have you seen Holmes lately? Holey Moley. Recast for me takes you out of the movie and reminds you that this is just a film production not fantasy.

I laugh at people who go see one movie JUST to see another movie's trailer.

That being said, isn't there anyone out there who tries his damnedest to avoid movie spoilers amazed about 6-minute action sequences, plot details, casting surprises, etc. all being sent out by studios these days? It's getting harder and harder to go into a movie theater fresh these days.

IAL was one good SciFi entertainment this Christmas 2007 even when the ending was a bit halfbaked for me. As for the TDK official trailer I enjoyed the IMAX clip more than the trailer. Batman can certainly do better than Maggie and its not like Batman's girlfriends are Oscar worthy. Katie was perfect for the role but she just had a babyface but now I think her more mature look would have been perfect for the movie and she's gotten so hot so looks like marriage and motherhood suits her very well. Maggie looks more like Alfred's love interest.

I never liked Will Smith as an actor but he's definitely growing on me. Now that we saw TDK's official trailer rating it a 7 out of 10 and me thinks Ledger's joker sounds almost alike to Mark Hamill in the cartoons so I dont see how some fans think he is so different and so original. Poor us Batfans that actually like Holmes. Recast is just a big copout and Maggie's acting always annoyed me add her droopy face and body another Kiki Dunst like in Spiderman. No romance and more action works for me in the Batman franchise.
