First Trailer for Judd Apatow's 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'

Access Hollywood premiered the first trailer for the next Judd Apatow-produced comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and while it doesn't quite look like an Apatow film right now (with the exception of his regulars all showing up), remember that this is the made-for-TV trailer that probably can't include the film's greatest bits. This time Jason Segel (who wrote the script) is in the lead, and he plays a guy who's having one heckuva hard time forgetting his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). When he's advised to take a trip to Hawaii to help mend his open wounds, he accidentally winds up staying at the same hotel as Sarah and her new wacked-out celebrity boyfriend.
Based on the trailer, it looks to be Apatow's most cookie-cutter of all his films, but like I said before, they'll come out with a red-band trailer and this will look like a completely different movie. Regardless, you still have performances from the reliable Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader and adorable Mila Kunis -- not to mention the flick is directed by Nicholas Stoller (Undeclared) -- so hopes are still pretty high. Forgetting Sarah Marshall arrives in theaters on May 30, and you can watch the trailer above. Let us know what you think.

Yeah I don't know what it is about Apatow's films (and trailers), but they are very distinctive and very awesome. He could probably make a movie about literally ANYTHING and make it hilarious, he is the cinematical Seinfeld. I say he grabs the rights from New Line and remakes all three LOTRs. Those movies would finally be awesome. Hell, he could just direct the voiceover work from his regulars, and it would be priceless. This guy is the golden goose right now.

Movie sounds kind of sitcommy. And Mila Kunis is very adorable, but has the acting ability of a wooden spoon.

I think it looks great. I'm glad they kept the title, too. The whole Apatow branding thing is a bit odd in my eyes because althought it sells the comedies, the ones that aren't directed by him, or written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg all are very different. Talladega Nights, Walk Hard, and this one all are very different than Knocked Up or Superbad, the only linkin thread is that they're all good.
I've only seen Russel Brand interview people, and only once, but he seems like a douche. Hopefully he's not.

I've seen Russell Brand's show, and he's a bit ... much, but also very funny. This concept does look a bit "generic," but as long as it's got a good script, some solid performances, and several laughs, what's to complain about?
Glad to see Jason Segal getting his own leading-man shot from Apatow.

Set in Hawaii? Here's hoping for lots and lots of Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis in teeny-weeny bikinis.

God bless them, but how the hell is a pearl necklace joke approved for all audiences? I really hope this runs in front of THE WATER HORSE so parents have to explain it.

Looks good. Segal plays the crazy ex-boyfriend quite well. Wait is there anything else he's ever played? (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, season 2 of HIMYM). Nevertheless type casting is usually great for the audience.
