Director Tapped for Diablo Cody's Horror Flick
So now that the whole planet is echoing what Kim and I said several months ago, here's a pretty logical question: What's up next for screenwriter Diablo Cody? The gal's a bona-fide phenomenon these days (did you see Juno's box office numbers?), and there's been lots (and lots) of press about the lady -- but I want to know about the important stuff. Stuff like ... the next screenplay. As you may have already heard by now, Ms. Cody's next project will be a dark comedy / horror flick called Jennifer's Body. Her Juno collaborator (director Jason Reitman) is on board as a producer, and the flick will be directed by Karyn Kusama, better known for Girlifight (yay) and Aeon Flux (boo). Plus they just snagged Megan Fox for the title role! Go women!
According to a typically entertaining entry at the MTV Movies Blog, Jennifer's Body "tells the story of a seemingly-perfect cheerleader whose life is thrown into disarray when she gets possessed by a demon, begins eating boys in her small Minnesota town, then faces off against her best friend and the Satan-worshipping band that made her evil." Check out the full article for a lot more on the project.
Oh, and Diablo Cody loves horror movies and calls Rosemary's Baby her favorite. I think I'm in love.

But it would be so much cooler if it was about a donkey and a motorcycle gang.

Megan Fox? Can they not find someone who is hot AND can act?

I'm intrigued. I'm hoping that the ambiguity of the title means that the film will be a satire.

Getting tired of hearing about this future-one hit wonder. I'll be glad when she and her extremely overhyped and overrated movie fade into our past.

Not a fan at all of Juno, but that looks like a masterpiece compared to this. Casting the blank Megan Fox and choosing the director of Aeon Flux says a lot.

I have to agree -- downgrade for Cody, cast and director-wise. I'll only forgive this film if that title is actually a Hole reference.
